It doesn’t necessarily have to be both first rounders but they need to invest another pick in the OL and it’ll be a high one. I’m sure FA will play into the OL also but C will be a question mark as I believe McGovern will be a FA (can be improved on), RG IMO is a huge hole, and RT well…. they can probably squeeze another year out of Fant/Moses but they need to start grooming a young permanent guy there.

So I’m guessing at least one of the Jets top 4 picks in 2022 will go towards the OL. I like both Neal and Linderbaum but I doubt the draft unfolds that way.

McGovern and Fant are still both under contract, as well as Van Roten. Van Roten has to be upgraded, that's an absolute must, but McGovern isn't urgent. I really like having Fant on the roster, he was solid last year and has been solid this year outside of Week 1 at Carolina. I'm curious to see how Fant plays at RT once Becton is back in the lineup.

The Jets may take an OL high, but to get Neal and Linderbaum, you're almost certainly going to have to spend both 1st round picks, which to me is just not a quality dispersal of assets.

Fortunately the Jets have (as it stands) 4 top 50 picks, and it's a strong OT, Edge, and CB class. The chances of getting quality guys at all 3 is pretty reasonable.

I definitely think that one of the 1st round picks could go to the OL, and probably will, but perhaps not. I think both Neal and Linderbaum will go in the first 10 picks. If we take an Edge at #3, I'm not sure if there's another OL worthy of the #11 pick, and there may not be one worthy of a 2nd round pick. It all depends upon how the draft falls, and how many quality OL there are. I've only done minimal draft research so far, and probably won't this year.

It’s too early for me to get into the draft I’m still interested in trying to win a few more games.

I also had that feeling of caution regarding this Mountain of a young man... but you make a good point...

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t understand the insistence of drafting another CB within the top 4 especially with the first pick. The Jets drafted 3 of them last year and so far they have played well and have seemed to grasp the system. They also have Hall on the other side who has the talent of a high pick but was drafted lower due to injury. In my opinion the CB room may need a veteran to guide things along which can be addressed in FA.

I think adding EDGE, LBs, and a safety would be a much better dispersal of assets for this upcoming draft to complete this defense.

Could we add a tight end in there somewhere? We don't seem to have a lot there. Otherwise, I agree with what you're suggesting.

It’s also a good TE class

It depends ultimately who is available and what you think of them. It’s not my priority generally but if you believe you are looking one of those All-Pro Ramsey/Gilmore types, it’s worth it. Brandin Echols isn’t stopping me from making that move

I was talking defense but of course they need a TE and also some OL help and another RB for the committee ….

Its just whenever they swing for CB early they miss and it sets them back except for Glenn and Revis of course.

I’d really like to see two pass rushers added but it probably won’t happen. But they really need at least one EDGE and LB help. The current group of LBs are sorely lacking other than Moseley and he’s getting up there…

The Jets have only drafted 5 CB’s in the top 2 rounds over the last 30 years.
    1 All-Pro (Revis)
    2 Pro Bowl (Glenn, Miller)
    1 Skill Bust (Wilson)
    1 Injury Bust (Milliner)

Even though this is a 60% hit rate for Pro Bowl or better, none of these players were drafted by the current GM or Coaching staff so ultimately what would those outcomes have to do with drafting a CB high anyway?

Stingley is supposed to have that skill set, but is it worth taking him over Karlaftis or Hutchinson? I'd say no at this point.

I don’t know, I haven’t seen enough of Stingley or Karlaftis yet. But I am drooling over Hutchinson right now.

Hall looks like a star in the making. We don't have that type of player at edge rusher. Even with Lawson back, we need someone who can wreck games like Mack, Bosa, and Watt.
