Maye has been a greta player and professional for us for 4 years. but getting a DUI in the middle of a long term contract negotiation and then hiding it is not a good look
In Wisconsin there's public access to circuit court records that are easily searchable over the internet--all cases go into the database and then if someone's found not guilty its hidden. Also they hide it after 2 years and for other reasons. This is how I found out one of my bosses got a DUI--the bitch. Even if a State doesn't have public access if one's interested enough one can get all kinds of court records--Spokeo and other sites or even law firms can easily access records. Which brings me to the point--the NFL most likely knew of this since it happened in February--any HR department worth its salt has to check for stuff like this periodically and the NFL keeps on top of things. So I'm betting Cimini is wrong about the NYJ not knowing--maybe the guy he talked to didn't know.
Disappointed. Maye knows the Jets DUI rules. If there is no loaded handgun and/or drugs paraphernalia in the trunk then he needs to at least flip the car over. Amateur.
Vomit is a phenomenal word. Growing up is was “barfed”, “hurled”, and people older than me sometimes said “ralphed”. Vomit just has a cachet that it’s competitors can only dream of.
Someone who gets that shit-faced and then gets behind the wheel usually has a serious drinking problem. That would certainly be concerning for the Jets.
That was my first impression. There's DUI where you pull over and walk the line and then there's finding a crashed vehicle with a passed out guy covered in puke that has no idea he where he is or how he got there. Both are signs of concern but one is a bullseye for a real problem.
It's possible that some of it was the result of head trauma (concussion) from the accident. I'm sure they took a blood sample when he refused to take the field sobriety tests and was arrested. That will make clear just how drunk he was.
Was Maye arrested at the scene? It doesn't sound like he was...... Edit: whoops, I see now. Yes he was.
