Let this group grow together. It's not going to be pretty. They are the youngest team in the NFL. I feel we have the right coaching staff now. Just be patient and don't call for their heads when something doesn't go right. I know we have waited a long time for some success but now we just have to wait and let them gel together. Could be 2023 until we make the playoffs. https://nypost.com/2021/09/13/young-jets-will-need-plenty-of-patience-from-fans/ Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
I'm with it! Go through the growing pains with this group. I think the fans reacted so strongly to this loss because this was suppose to be a new era and the first game had a lot of the same issues we've been seeing for years.
I'm all for it, but I get why many here don't have much of it. 50+ years of mostly futility will do that.
Things are likely to get worse before they get better. With how young we are and with all the injuries things may get a lot worse. There might be many blowouts in our near future. We need patience possibly a lot of patience. This year is all about getting reps and being a better team come week 18.
If things get much worse, they may never get better. I am OK if it gets worse for the defense - and I know it will. Unfortunately we are not going to play Sam every game, and the defense will get exposed. That's fine. But QB protection must not get worse. We can't afford to have another game with the hits Zach took, or this will be Joe Burrow type of season end. I don't want to learn if Mike White is a good NFL QB after NE game. Pass protection must get better NOW. I understand it will need to keep gelling, but even at worst it has to be better than what we saw last afternoon.
I've been a fan of over 40 years. If I can be patient then they can too. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
If they want to save Wilson's ass from getting creamed expect a lot of holding calls. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
The fans impatience is reasonable given the fact that we have dumped a ton of resources into the offensive line and it was absolute dog shit last week. I'm all for patience with the young quarterback, receivers and defense that has a boat load of rookies on it but the offensive line not only looked disorganized but you had guys beaten like an absolute drum. 4/5 of the starters are now veterans especially after Becton went down with zero running game push.
Fuck that, he is the golden child, let’s see it happen. They looked like the SOJ in the opener. I have been here 55 years, tired of waiting.
If we really expected to even sniff the playoffs after a 2-14 season with a team full of holes and young players in a completely new system, we're being unrealistic. As much as people want to say that they aren't going to be patient and refuse to wait...well, well don't have much choice.
I don't think anyone expects to see the playoffs. I think we expect to see some better football though. That's not a very good team given that they were unable to put us away with how bad we played for three quarters. 6/7 wins is a big upgrade. That didn't look like a 6/7 win team though.
I understand we're a young team but the absolute worst thing that could've happened in the first game happened - Wilson took a huge beating. He was under the most pressure of any QB in the league. That's simply unacceptable. It's not just that we were bad, it's that we failed massively at the one thing we could not fail massively at - protecting Wilson. We have every right to be outraged at that performance. The OL looked markedly worse than it did at any point last season.
watching this team in real time may be hazardous to your mental health// amma try to not even follow next week. just check result and stats.... we'll see how i hold up
