It is also not logical to immediately call them trash when you have never seen them play in an NFL game. You also have never seen them play when the defense is running at 100% with an open playbook and all starters on the field. I am not disagreeing that they are young. I am also not disagreeing that they may be exposed in the regular season, but to just come out and say "they are trash" without any evidence to back up that claim is illogical.
Ok. If they get torched by Sam Darnold week 1 can I call them trash? No? Yes? What if Mccorkle Jones picks on them week 2? Can I then? When will it be okay with you?
I don't give a shit what you do or the decision you make after week 1. Although with the illogical response you have on the table already, I would imagine you would come to that kind of decision after 1 week
not really. you need more quickness for man. straight line speed not as much as you can jam and often have safety help over the top. zone takes more reaction and mental ability to know where to be and when to drive on a WR and who to follow and who to pass off. it's possible bless wasn't doing as well with it. You could be right, could be more to the story but doubtful we ever know. saleh gave a canned we want to give the young guys a chance but bless is only 25, that's pretty dam young. If he was 30 then sure, but I'm not buying their reasoning. They did try to trade him but had no takers.
It's pretty logical to assume that rookie corners are going to be trash. Very few first rounders, let alone late rounders, are even formidable players when they step on the field. The only couple I really remember as being good players from the start were Ramsey, Patrick Peterson, Sherman and Revis and they're all Hall of Famers excluding Ramsey at this point. Okudah got abused last year. Year 2 is the year for corners.
All this is speculation on your part. So don't put Saleh down for something we don't have the answer to...I have faith in RS & JD. After all they did find a way to unload Morgan....picked up by Carolina for their PS.
Hall, Maye, Davis and Echols are going to be the secondary, Echols is the only one who doesn’t have experience, the other 3 do and were forced to play man coverage 70% percent of the time under the mad man DC Greg Williams. I expect Maye, Davis and Hall to be fine in this scheme, Echols is the only one I’m not sure about. Can we calm down with the angst and outcry over a terrible secondary? It’s not like everyone back there is a 3rd round draft pick rookie playing in their first season. Bryce Hall came back from injury and still managed to develop faster and better than Bless Austin who had plenty of time to lock down the CB position with all the chances he’s gotten. Guy was a 6th round pick who was given a shot and is probably not a good fit for the scheme, I wish him well wherever he lands.
That's why we're still in the shit. JD had to do an entire roster turnover and its still a work in progress..
Ya'll do realize how bad Bless Austin actually was in 2020 right? He posted an overall PFF grade of 51.1 which was ranked 105th out of 136 qualified cornerbacks. In coverage, he posted a 47.4 grade which ranked 112th. Further, in zone coverage, which is what this defense will be running heavily, he posted a 47.0 rating.
I'm on the Bless wasn't that good wagon. He had a few games he was impressive, but mostly I just remember seeing the back of his jersey trailing someone
If he was viewed as good, some team would have offered up a late round pick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe there's a police incident we're not aware of yet and the NYJ in the interest of full disclosure had to tell the other teams. Time will tell.
