Being a reporter does not make you a football expert. They might have more access but in no way does being a "writer" make a football expert anymore than writing police story make you an expert on being in law in forcement. Being a writer is about people reading your content . If they do not read your content, you or the outlet will not be around very long. I never said they made shit up but one infamous beat writer for the Jets may have. You can be naive all you want if you think writers cannot influence public opinion. This is not only for football. You have the right to your opinion.
Try to make sense. You posted the passage above about who did or did not play the game as if it made a difference in reporting. Then you stated "Where did I say that a writer or any media member has to have played football? I didnt even come close to implying that." I repeated your quote and now you're saying it does matter. Which is it? You can't be on both sides of the fence - that's not anyone's "arguing style," that's just inconsistency, within minutes.
Of course writers can influence public opinion, especially columnists and other commentators - that's their jobI It's what they're supposed to do. Who's naive here?
One more time, read it slowly. All I was doing was making the case for why some fans can diagnose the game as well as a beat writer. Whats so hard for you to make out of a simple comment that anyone would understand. I never said they had to, some have played and some havent. Or maybe you want to make a case as to why a long time fan of the game, who understands the game can understand the game as well as a beat writer. Nothing inconsistent, ive repeated this 3 or 4 times and you keep coming back for more.
So, what is your point in making such an issue of having played the game, why even bring it up? I never suggested you or any other individual did not have a good grasp of the game but you were drawing a distinction between two reporters - one who played, and another who may or may not have. I'd rather hear more about exactly what you heard Cowherd say about how Wilson reminds him of Manziel that has you so upset.
You really just have to be trolling if after posting that video twice that talks about it you play dumb and ask what I heard You are boring as all hell, bye
Good reminder, this argument machine has to lead the board in being on peoples ignore list. Soon he wont have anyone to jerk around and play stupid with
my point is this ... you can tell when someone can or cannot talk football sensibly with you... why bother with those who cannot? or else, may as well talk to your neighbors cat about sports
I feel like San Fran said "let's draft a guy that looks EXACTLY like Colin Kaepernick when in uniform"
Indeed, that is the kind of shit that not just Darnold but many seasoned NFL QBs can not do very well or consistently. To me the kid does not look like a rookie out there, not in the least. He has ways to go, but good Lord does he have talent. Hell even Aaron was out there looking at him and saying....damned good throw.
