Good post. I couldn't possibly agree more! I really, really like him. He's personable, energetic, charismatic, smart, well-spoken, and I think just the right man to lead the Jets.
He is banned. We know that jets20 is a fan of another team, so he could be a Bears fan too. Or he could be a Fields fan and is just trolling us.
I distinctly remember watching that breakdown Kurt had. Wonder if he feels like he was dead ass wrong with all the good occurring around the franchise this offseason. Obviously it all needs to translate to wins during the season, but he explicitly stated he "HATED" the direction this franchise was going. Hard to hate anything we are doing currently.
What I really like is how calm Saleh is and how Fing positive he us. Nothing ever seems to bother him. It looks impossible to talk to this man and not feel happier. Why did Pat Leahy get banned?
Just want to thank all the posters of training camp updates. It sounds like our young guys are making progress. JD's free agency decision-making (Lawson, Davis, etc.) is looking pretty good about now also.
This is one of the reasons I really liked/like Wilson - yeah, he's got great arm strength, but it's his release that's really special. That's how Brady killed us - we could hardly ever get to him before the ball was out of his hand. I think Zach will give us that same ability.
its hwy i liked him as a potential hire b4 they did it. (live in bay area and had observed him and heard him speak many times)
Remember the poster BuddyRyan who kept starting threads but PM'd some disgusting things to certain posters? There were many indications Pat was a reincarnation of the that poster.
***STOP THE PRESSES*** I don't give a crap about "the other top QBs," I'm a Jets fan and the Jets QB, for better or worse, is Wilson (for you to say I don't like him is simply a ridiculous diversion) - the guy who faced a much lower class of competition in college than those who normally succeed in the NFL. Not a thing ZW has done in training camp has alleviated my concerns. If you need to continuously make comparisons to other draftees rather than those who have reached success in the NFL you're doing this all wrong.
How? Forget the target practice reports, that was never a concern of mine. I'm talking about reading defenses in the face of a pass rush and find damn few reports that Wilson has had much success in that area. We won't be able to evaluate that for real until he's on the field against a real opponent with the clock running; until then, in the absence of anything to change my mind, those concerns remain.
So don't use them as supporting evidence? I don't really care what disclaimer you put, you still tried to use them as justification for your claim. He has an NFL arm, but he doesn't have a cannon. Throwing the ball far does not equal zip. He threw a great college deep ball. Can he fit a 15 yard deep out in? We're going to find out. Here's what I originally said anyways before you got your Wilson fangirl panties in a bunch and had to make wild claims about how he already has a top 5 NFL arm. Jonathan_Vilma said: ↑ Wilson has the ability to throw off his back foot and loft the ball far down field. He does not have the ability to do it and get away with velocity throws like only really Josh Allen and Mahomes can do and maybe Rodgers. He is not in that category in terms of arm strength and off-platform throwing.
Yes, Pat was a Wilson fan, but also liked Fields I believe. It's Kurt that was the Lance fan and didn't like Wilson.
Maybe so, but selectively - whatever they post is praise. Ignoring failure is the MO. I'll take the professionals every day of the week for objectivity; but then I'm not afraid of reading criticism.
It seems like Wilson is making progress if the note about him calling audibles is true. And he also seems to be spreading the ball around a lot, and while that might be something he's being told to do, the fact that he's connecting with a lot of different guys who have different traits is a good thing. I hope the injuries today aren't serious, especially Moore's. And AVT's continued absence is beginning to be a concern for me, but I'm hoping that they're just being extra cautious and trying to prevent a more serious injury. The first real test is this Saturday and that will be a sort of "reality check". That said, regardless, it's just one P.S. game and no one should make any big predictions off it one way or the other. I can say that this is the most optimistic I've felt about this team in years - and I don't mean 10 or 12, more like 20.
