In the game tape I saw of Mahomes, he displayed a "never say die" attitude, and he backed that up with an arm that could do whatever he wanted. I also factored in to that the fact that his dad was a pro baseball player, so Patrick had a good grasp of what it takes to succeed at that level. Admittedly, conjecture on my part, but I felt confident in it. As I do with Wilson.
If someone disagrees with your POV, does that automatically mean they think you're "dumb" or "crazy"? I know there are some posters here who have specifically used those terms when they disagreed with someone, but i try hard to refrain from that. As I said, you're entitled to your opinion, and likewise, I'm entitled to disagree.
I'm not sure what you're asking. Yes, Sam did do a lot of those things, but he kept on doing them even when they didn't work. Continuing to compare the two, Sam regressed in college, Zach got better. Sam NEVER possessed the accuracy that Zach has. Even in college Sam made poor decisions which carried over and got worse with the Jets; Zach has shown no such liability (yet). So, if you're trying to say that because we all experienced Darnold, we should all be concerned over Wilson based on 2 weeks of T.C., I disagree.
Oh if that's the case then fuck that! I have so many hats it's not even funny. I really like that hat but am not a fan if it's from the Gase Era
I gave a range of responses. Not everyone is responding the same way. You certainly haven’t but you’re not everyone.
I am concerned because we really have no idea what kind of QB Wilson will be 3 years down the line. Picking a QB in the top 5 is always a crapshoot. He could be lights out in his second week if practice and I'd still be concerned. I'd also be concerned if we had picked Lawrence, Fields, Lance or Jones. There's no way we can tell if the Jets got it right at this point.
Ok "struggling" how? Dude lost 15 lbs due to severe food poisoning. So he ran with the 2s. He's probably not even a starter on this team. Fine. How is that on the bubble? Any journalist worth their salt would've asked the question first. It's pure bullshit speculation from a reporter who just wants to stir shit. Gtfoh with "it's not their job to kiss ass". Who said that? Did I ? Because you quoted me. My post made no reference to anything close to that.
I haven’t seen reports of struggling just that he’s currently low on the depth chart which is true. I think folks are just assuming he’s struggling as justification.
Exactly. Which is fine. He's a back up on this team as currently constituted. I got no problem with that assessment. There's a huge leap from backup/recovering from illness, to "on the bubble". My beef is simply that "on the bubble" was a Ciminism that needs to be called out for being bullshit.
It’s speculation but I think it’s fair to say a guy might be on the bubble when you see a guy not getting reps running w/ the 3rd team. We only keep so many receivers. I think they are allowed to speculate and be wrong sometimes.
