What many people forget is that Q played his first season on one leg pretty severely injured after an ankle injury. He really gutted it out to just play.
That's definitely possible. I still think he'll edge out Cole or Crowder and be our 4th WR when the season starts. Even if he doesn't, he offers something that really only 1 other guy has in our WR group, contested catch ability. I could see him getting a lot of goal-line reps even if he is 4th or 5th on the official depth chart.
100% agree. As high as I am on Wilson, he's still a rookie. He's gonna make some mistakes this year no doubt. The most important thing IMO is how he bounces back from those.
yes you may be right…and how good does THAT sound? Our WR depth is better than it’s been in years, since the Marshall-Decker-Enunwa 2015 days I’d say…
Not great, but doesn't sound terrible either. It's a 3d practice for a rookie. TL I heard threw 3 or more picks. It's growing pains, particularly given late start. Basically so far some ups and downs, but overall seems like he is doing just fine. Also encouraging to hear Morgan had another great practice. Would be great if he can solidify back-up QB spot. Who were the two veteran QB scrubs again Jets were bringing in for a workout?!
Be that as it may, Berrios is not a threat to take one to the house. I want someone faster and more elusive returning Punts. You're going to extremes. I said nothing about returning balls he shouldn't, but if the Jets blocking is that bad on STs, then we need a new STs coordinator or a lot more talent on STs. Berrios was almost an automatic fair catch this past season and I only missed 2 games. I saw the Packers several times and the Panthers several times, and of course, saw the teams that were playing the Jets and there weren't automatic fair catches.
Totally agree. I think Zach has been about what I expected in TC so far, especially with missing the first 2 practices. I think they brought in Josh Johnson and Sean Mannion but if those are our best options, I'd rather roll with Morgan if something (knocks on wood) were to happen to Wilson. If Wilson goes down, this season is most likely a wash anyway so might as well see if Morgan can be a capable back up and get a top 5-10 pick in the process, ala the 2020 Bengals.
Sean Mannion was one, but he signed with the Vikings. Josh Johnson was the other. I was just thinking last night that the Jags have Lawrence, Minshew and they signed Beathard this offseason. They may not keep 3 QBs. We could still add Beathard if Morgan doesn't continue to look solid. We could also add Foles as I doubt that Da Bears keep him.
I would rather roll with Morgan as well unless he just falls apart towards the end of TC and in preseason. I want the offense to grow and do well. If Morgan and White don't look good, I'd rather add Beathard or Foles at the end of TC.
I'm on board with that. It sounds like Morgan has looked pretty solid so far in TC. It'll be interesting to see how he does going forward, especially in our joint practices later this month.
I also believe Michael Carter is a steal too because he ranked #4 in NCAA rushing yards and #1 in average yards per carry but yet stolen during the 4th round?
