There are varied array of outcomes. Wilson could develop into what JD hopes and still be not as good as those drafted after him. The dating analogy made in one of the gazillion Wilson articles posted on here (losing track) is apropos. Wilson is just the one he fell in love with. It doesn’t mean he guessed wrong. For example, if Mahomes and Watson were in a different draft class, Trubisky would be viewed completely differently as his numbers are not terrible.
