The Jets do this to an unusually large percentage of the guys who cover them. This was true back in the 70's with Steve Serby and it has been true with guys over the years after him. Not sure why the Jet Hater Syndrome is so prevalent in the guys who cover them.
Part of me wants to sympathize, I mean he has spent like 30 years following around a revolving cast of dumbasses who make 10-20 times his annual salary and suck at their jobs. But nobody's forcing him to stay.
