I can understand because it's not a sexy pick and the draft picks we gave up, but this guy is really talented. You weren't getting a guy like this in round 2. He was in the elite 5 of OL.
Especially this year with fewer surer things and more question marks the deeper you go into the draft.

I'm all for the big uglies. But this is a deep offensive line draft especially on the interior/run blocking wise. If he's as good as people say maybe it'll work out and look good.
I disagree completely, NC. AVT Is a legit player for us and a big time OL get. They aren't In the same tier. I don't know If you've watched AVT play much, I'm telling you, he's gonna be a good one for us.
That draft by Idzik had to be the worst ever for the Jets. How did he not move up with that many picks? And the guys he took just head scratchers. Pryor and Amaro....terrible attitudes and one dimensional game, let’s select them. Landed Enunwa but really throwing darts would’ve done better.

Well according to all the scouts there was an elite group of premier start on day 1 five OL in this draft. You had Sewell, Slater, Darrisaw, Tucker, and Jenkins. After that, the talent falls immensely with each one having issues. This is why the Leatherwood pick is a shocker. Yikes!
