You do realize that, if the Giants DB gave any bit of effort on that play, it should've been picked off...or, at the very least, broken up? It was more of a horrible play on the Giants part, than a good one on the Redskins.
That may cost the Jets a couple spots in the draft. Then again, it may not. Depends on what the other 4-11, 5-10, and 6-9 teams do on Sunday and how the tiebreakers for draft order work out. Either way, the pick will be in a good spot. I want the Giants to lose because it makes Sunday more enjoyable. The Falcons and Rams and Panthers may be eliminated if the Giants win.
Yeah, but I still like the playcall. If we make the playoffs and are facing a superior opponent I think it would be beneficial to run a play like that and hope that Coles or Mccarins can get a little more open than Moss
Exciting game so far. DOMINATION by the Redskins. Unfortunate fumble by Betts, Randel El to Moss for 6, 7-3 Skins early.
Yet another reason why I want the Giants to lose: I picked the Redskins to win and the game is very important in the pool.
Not lookin good for the giants, let the excuses to the media start flowing. I expect all their fingers to be tired from all the fingerpointing they're gonna do.
Is that the reason why you can't hear the game noise? I was wondering. Gumbel really is terrible, and the constant commercials of that guy whining about not getting the NFL Network on cable are beyond annoying.
The overall broadcast is just bad. Both announcers suck and the video resolution seems bad even for reg definition broadcasting. BTW, whats with all the little sand puffs? I know field turf has sand as a base but dayum, its almost like they're playing Beach Football..
To be honest, I'm actually rooting for a Giants win...not just so the Jets can get a more favorable draft pick, but because I also wanna be able to call the Giants "the worst team to ever make the playoffs", as well. =)
Good example of incompetence - the Giants have the ball in great field position because of a horrible punt, and they didn't say a word about it.
Good first quarter. Week 17 under way. 7-3 Redskins after 1. Giants driving.... About Gumbel and Collinsworth: Both pretty bad I agree, but better than Theisman/Kornheiser.
I think Collinsworth is good, but with Gumbel he has nothing to work with. He basically has to ignore whatever he says and just do his own thing.
I'm sure we will see a lot of those NFL Network/cable spots since this a free preview week for some cable customers. They are quite annoying.
Tiki Barber strikes again! 10-7 G-Men. The Redskins CAN'T tackle. It is horrible. Watching these other teams makes you see the progress the Jets have made. Mangini has got something going here.
Reason #1937294 that Gumble is a terrible play-by-play guy: Actual game action takes backseat to his rambling.
Actually, it's a little more complicated than that. This game is not part of the free preview week, but since it's on broadcast TV in New York and Washington, it's actually aimed at cable customers who are watching, but are actually not currently watching a cable channel.
