Cupcake must be relative. Even PFF who rates Wilson very high referred to his schedule as cupcake. While I don’t agree with where they have Wilson ranked, I do agree with them regarding the schedule.
Exactly! It's hilarious, and they try to accuse us of being blind and saying that Wilson has no flaws. They accuse us of the very thing they're guilty of. Sounds like someone famous who did a lot of that.
I finally was able to watch Kurt Warner's breakdown of Justin Fields. I thought it was very fair. In fact, I liked how he made a point to show where Fields IS processing and going through his reads, so that alleviates one of my concerns about him - although I never bought into the claim that Fields wasn't processing and going through reads, but frankly I'm not an astute enough analyst to be able to detect that discreet head/eye movements from tape, so it's helpful when someone who can do that points it out. Also, in the footage Warner used there were a number of "tight window" throws - although some of these Warner thought were forced and there were other, easier throws that Fields overlooked - so the claim that he always throws to wide open receivers is also not true. He can certainly hit tightly covered receivers from what I've seen (both in Warner's tape and other footage I've seen). He also shows that he can hang under a collapsing pocket and make throws, so those claiming he always throws from a clean pocket aren't accurate in that assessment. So what's not to like about Fields? Not much actually, and I wouldn't be unhappy if he was the pick - as I've said repeatedly. But there are some areas that need to be noted, and while these can probably be fixed/cleaned up, they may also hold him back from reaching his full potential. Sometimes he takes too long to make a decision. This is different then the claim that he doesn't read the field well, although there may be some of that involved. This has caused him to be sacked, or throwing the ball away when there actually was a play to be made if he had decided earlier to make it. Maybe he's gotten to used to being able to run away from trouble that he believes he has more time to operate than he sometimes does? IDK, but OTOH this is probably something that he'll learn to improve on. He also seems to like to "gun" the ball when maybe taking a little off would work better. Although in the NFL with tighter windows and better coverage this may be a non-issue. He does have a longer "wind up" but again this doesn't seem to be a big issue at this point, although on the flip side to the previous point, this actually may become an issue in the NFL. On balance, I'd be okay with Fields if he's the pick, but I still think Wilson is the better "pure" QB, with a more talented arm, and a better sense of the game - he just seems to make plays when things break down, and on the Jets that's almost every play. Yes, I am concerned a bit about whether Wilson can hold up physically, but if he's that fragile I doubt Douglas (and most of the analysts and scouts) would have him rated so highly. I am looking forward to Warner's breakdown of Wilson.
Bro. Stop talking about things you're clearly uneducated about. This post displays just how little you know about the history of OSU and where your biased truly Is driven from. This Is literally. Literally. Uneducated drivel.
He does but you can’t improve on injury concerns, frame, level of competition. Those are just items you either are comfortable with as a fan/evaluator or you’re not. Seems like most are comfortable with it so that’s good news for Wilson. We’ll ultimately find out if it’s good for the Jets.
Well that depends how we’re defining red flags i think they fall into 1/2 categories.. Profile/background red flags IE character/Medical/minimal or smaller window of Production & evaluative red flags which have to be critical in order to reach that definition. Quite often they arent obvious things & only stand out in advanced break down or to very special evaluators. The profile ones certainly require alot of due dilligence but its buyer beware. Evaluative ones are usually not universal & vary from team to team. Wilson has 3 massive Profile red flags to work through. Thats alot. These things become known as red flags for a reason. Durability/1 year of production/Character concerns. Can be rationalized & vetted till the cows come home, but odds are 1 of those 3 things rear their ugly head. Im not sure a single red flag exists for Fields. And thsts not meant as bias..just what i interpret Red flag to entail. There have been acouple whispers sbout his character. And thats a concern. For the sake of compromise call it a red flag. But he has flaws/unknowns in his game like most do. Flaws are different than red flags The slow processor talk i dont think reaches a critical stage in which it becomes a red flag.Hes demonstrated going through multiple reads in a quick manner; Not consistently sure but much of it hss been tied to the system he played in . Its more of a wildcard than so a red flag. Ive seen alot more realistic floor/ceiling comps as well as articulated projections w Fields side than i have from the ZW crowd. Nobody seems to be elevating Fields the way they are ZW.
Did you read my post FFS? Clearly not.Dont waste my time anymore. But you arent a wilson licker? Got it.
I'm truly not but you guys are insufferable. Weeks and weeks of incessant whinning. And no one held a gun to your head and made you respond.
This is the type of hypocrisy that I was talking about when the same bogus anonymous report came on Fields as earlier one for Wilson, both refuted by coaches and teammates. Yet up until this day some folks are bringing up Wilson's bogus "character concerns" as a massive red flag, while report on Fields rightfully is not being mentioned at all, just like Wilson's shouldn't be. Are you really not able to see the hypocrisy and bias here or just brainwashed yourself to the point where you see two pretty much identical reports and call one a massive red flag and the other nothing?
What are you talking about? You yourself have stated very recently the same things about Ohio State's offense.
He claims Wilson has valid character concerns but not Fields. All I can do is laugh at this point. Either neither has valid concerns there or both do.
I conceeded that Fields has character red flags Go ahead & call me a hypocrite..at least im not a terrible QB evaluator.Same goes for all your Wilson buddies.
What does being a good evaluator of QB talent on a message board get you these days? Access to some secret society?
