Who are you to question the credibility of Cecil Lammey? This is Cecil Lammey from the ESPN we're talking here, dudebro. The ESPN
It likely never will because it never happened lol Take Douglas out of the equation. To think a team would give up the #12 overall pick for Sam Darnold, straight up, is a fuckin joke.
Schefter insisted early in offseasin Jets had a 1st round offer for Sam. Was adamant incl against sentiment just like this. Just sayin.
Especially given the 9ers rep as a smart organization. Remember yesterday when people were acting like those questioning the veracity of this were being illogical and worshipping JD? I swear this draft season has made some smart people completely lose their minds.
No. Schefter was speculating that the Jets could potentially get a late 1st round pick for him following the Stafford trade: "I think with all of the movement going on—I think with what Matthew Stafford went for—I think that [Darnold's] value, in the end if they trade him, will be some sort of late one," Adam Schefter said. A late round 1st speculation, not report, is drastically different than a #12 overall. In fact, here was the most recent news following Schefter stating the above:
I mean they just made an even worse trade than Maccagnan did to trade up to #3 a month before he draft. So that hurts their credibility as a smart organization as Maccagnan has since been chastised for how short-sighted it was.
The Schefter report I remember clearly was him saying that a Darnold trade was likely to "involve a 1st round pick". That language screamed to me at the time that he was saying Darnold would be packaged with other stuff to potentially touch a 1st.
Putting words in peoples mouth bc they are critical of everyone’s favorite fake savior doesnt make it any less petty or political. i suggest you put me on ignore like i have all your fellow followers.Wouldnt wanna spoil the Mickey mouse party next week

Yeah...can’t imagine it was a straight up trade of Darnold for #12 if these discussions were truly being had, it was more likely the #12 for a package back that included Darnold and a pick(s) that I could believe but if it were truly straight up the #12 for Darnold, I can’t imagine JD saying no to that...it would have allowed him to keep #2 and spthen have two more first rounders...I’m sure he would’ve taken that deal if it had been offered
