I know. My point is that with Mahome, Watson, Allen, Herbert...etc., “the talent is easy to spot” as the poster stated. However, NFL GMs, draft pundits and fans overthought themselves into elevating lesser talents ahead of them. I believe the same might be happening with Fields.
I think the person mean physical talent. There are a lot of QB's that have the physical talent but lack in other areas.
I’m fully aware of this baseless trope that many have lazily hitched to Fields’ pre draft narrative. It’s one of many.
I get what you are saying about Fields, and I also think he can be special. I just don't understand why Zach can't be. When I am looking at the ceiling of these guys, the only place I see Fields higher is dual threat ability. Zach is a very athletic guy with big arm. For these who had any doubts he showed his arm on Pro day. I am not sure if his arm is weaker than Fields', I think it is pretty close or better. His SPARQ athletics score was 100+ during his HS recruitment, which is very high. He can make plays with his legs, very mobile. As far as potential, sky is the limit. I guess I just don't get the point where we would regret passing on Fields if he figures everything out any more than we would regret passing on Zach if he figures everything out.
When talking potential why is everyone acting like Wilson doesn't have more potential as a passer than Fields does? Fields obviously has more potential as a runner but let's not ignore the thing QB's need to do well 95% of the time.
He wasn't a consensus top one. Which is why he went #3. And also, how can you claim consensus when you have this! lol
Wilson has better vision, anticipation, pocket awareness, off-platform mechanics, and ball placement than Fields.
Do you know what consensus means? Consensus does not mean unanimous. Anecdotal evidence of a people who had a different number 1 QB doesn’t mean Darnold was not the consensus number 1. The consensus best player doesn’t always go 1st. Hence why the Baker pick was suck big surprise to everyone when it happened.
You should probably educate yourself a bit more before blindly putting out things like this. He didn't leave Georgia because he wasn't good enough to play for UGA.
He didn't go #2 either. So, that's two NFL team that didn't think he was #1. He was consensus among ESPN talking heads. And of course there is Chris Simms, who correctly predicted his weaknesses. You gotta listen to this guy sometime.
I know that, and I didn't say that. I was only pointing out the fact that he tenure in UGA was not a success, unlike what ESPN talking heads are saying to pump him up.
My very traditional West Indian father used to tell me growing up that 90% of kids with fades sold and used drugs. I never challenged him on that.
