You see other coming to the same conclusion? I haven’t seen any others calling him a dink and dunker. Who else has come to that conclusion? I’d be interested in seeing who else feels that way.

What team you gonna go with?

  2. youre twisting my words..but who cares? Twist the knife & denounce my words all you want..again youre getting your way.

Steelers i think. Strong family ties..their front office has a clue & the fans actually want the best athletes not safe stat boys

"Does not always find the center fielder, which results in interceptions. Slow to process and at times slow pulling the trigger. Stares down the primary target."

    "Needs to Read Defences Better
    Decision Making
    Can Force Plays
    Ball Placement

Fields can force throws under pressure. He prefers to throw the ball downfield rather than take the sack. His decision making needs to improve as there are many times on film where you scream for Fields to just throw the ball out of bounds.

Fields can throw the ball into tight coverages and has been guilty of making aggressive decisions. He can be too eager to force the play and take risks. If not tightened up it will only lead to interceptions in the NFL.

Despite Fields throwing a catchable ball, he is accurate but not precise. He has overthrown some deep balls, even though he has the arm strength to make them.

Due to the system at Ohio State, the offensive structure doesn’t allow Fields to run a variety of NFL passing concepts. The Buckeyes play a simplistic offence, where Fields reads the first option and if the pass isn’t there he takes off on the run.

It means Fields can lock on to his first read and miss open receivers downfield because he hasn’t gone through his progressions.

It may be a concern for NFL teams as they have seen players recently, such as Dwayne Haskins, come from this scheme and it then not translate into results at the next level.

Being able to improve his pre-snap reads, being able to spot blitzes and diagnose the defence structure will only help Fields. He does not have a tremendous amount of experience so that should come with time.

The talent is easy to spot, but we would like him to be tested more. The offensive system is straightforward and having him go through progressions, making him read different concepts will only improve his transition to the NFL. "

Prior to the draft I want the potential best EVERYTHING. After the draft I’ll settle for at the very least good players. I’m still about 3 weeks from having to do the latter.

that's a fair assessment for sure. We all want the best players. we want JD to draft 10 all pro's. but we have to accept reality and parity.

If it’s so easy, how do we get Trubisky over Mahomes, Baker & Darnold over Allen, Tua over Herbert and possibly everyone and their momma over Fields?

Not twisting your words, you called him a dink & dunker in the original post I responded to, which was really my main objective.

To be clear, I personally prefer Fields but think they both have a chance to be star QBs. I guess you can say I’m getting my way as I’ll be happy as long as one of the two is the pick.

Good choice, Steelers would be in my final 3 if I ever had to pick a new team. Unfortunately I doubt that would ever happen but I have thought about it.

I definitely agree with you regarding Wilson, but not Smith. I think Chase is far superior to Smith.

gotta say leading up to the draft is a pretty fun time in the offseason. all the possibilities and thought of making the jets a real team. too bad it's always ended in tragedy.
wish there was more debate over pick 23 though

not a bad pick but I really want a LBer. I think fans here are ignoring how dire the LBer situation is for us. I really hope we take 2 in the top 4 rounds. it's a pretty solid class for Lbers for our system. I think CB is deep and can wait a bit or forgo the o-line in the 2nd and take one

  16. When i say dink & dunker im saying it in context to Jet fans preferring high completion % types w refined skill RATHER than elite physical traits, elite level arms & potentially dominant upside.

When those type of players get the nod to optimize that skillset youre typically running an underneath controlled passing attack. which for someone like me who at this stage strongly prefers an aggressive deep passing attack w an elite armed QB, i perceive it as dink & dunk. Yes Wilson can make all the throws..im not saying he cant.Im saying he doesnt have an elite level arm or really anything elute.Thats a dealbreaker for me both in terms of preference & fundamentally.

As to folks reaching the same conclussion,im referring to ZW being good not great in alot of areas & not really having any elite traits. Not necesarily the dink & dunk stuff

Kurt, you know I love you guy, but I don't think you could be any more wrong about Wilson not having an elite arm or anything elite. I'm mystified as to why you dislike him so.

Fields has the same throwing motion as Tebow. How did that translate in the NFL?

  19. It wasnt Tebow’s throwing motion that prevented him from being a great QB.He didnt have anywhere close to NFL throwing ability

Im not as high on Fields as others. But at least he has a pedigree,a body of work, intangibles & brings a dual threat component for added playmaking ability.
