Very true, I don't recall Simms running into the teammates anus and fumbling the ball. Or praising Mitch Trubisky or Sam the way Mark did. Or really being wrong on any of his top QB takes since 2017. And by the way, you think Sanchez did a hard week of study before saying what he is saying now? Soft at best.
Huh? My (implied) comment was about the deification of Simms by those who share his opinion, not about anyone's performance. Is someone worshipping Sanchez now? Through Ryan?
I have no idea what Mark Sanchez’s butt fumble has to do his opinion on prospects. Does the fact that Sanchez has 4 playoff wins under his belt to Simms’ 0 means something too now?
I doubt very much every time. Not too many would pick Jimmy G the prospect over Michael Vick or a Josh Allen coming out.
I have watched many youtube videos recently and one video stood out, they had a nice video made by SF fans with an offensive coach/QB coach and they did a full breakdown and analyzed every single throw made by Zach Wilson in 2019 vs USC (BYU/Zach won btw) and all the throws of Justin Herbert against that same USC team of 2019, btw that Orgeon team had many top offensive line talent 4 are drafted already and one will be drafted this year in the top 10 (Sewell). Actually Oregon were also dominant running the ball unlike BYU who could barely get any yard on the run in that game. Both looked quite similar and made great throws and arguably Wilson looked just as good as Herbert. So out of the window the question mark that Zach Wilson is untested against top team, actually Wilson was pressured all game and still looked great. Also what stood out to me was how they compared that to Jimmy G and they constantly made fun of him always looking for the easy short pass and compared that to Wilson who is always looking for long stretch pass, it was very refreshing to see. BTW, they were full on board on Wilson after that review.
What does it say? Not much... like he mentioned in that same video if your a team personnel of a pro team you would analyze every single throws of every single games possible. Talk with the coaches, teammates get a better picture of the player. You can bet all NFL teams looking for a QB did their due diligence in that regard and Zach Wilson seem to be the unanimous top QB among all teams other than Lawrence.
I had a dream that we selected Fields last night and the experts saying no wonder the 49ers just traded to the 3 spot, then Pitts fell to us at #23 I can't say I have ever dreamt about draft night before, that'll teach me to be reading here right before bed, though I frequently do that tbh.
Patrick Mahomes isn’t the superior athlete/physical freak.. he falls into the quick release/accuracy group.. I preferred Josh Allen in that draft by a mile and still do over Lamar
Josh Allen was something special when he was coming out. He had all the traits you look for and was one of the best prospects I have analyzed. Look back how much I pounded the table for him. More than anyone on here that’s for sure. You obviously wouldn’t be taking Jimmy over Vick but those 2 weren’t in the same class nor had similar draft stock like Wilson/Fields. I think when it’s close between QB prospects I look at the arm talent as the ice breaker. Wilson’s quick release is what does it for me. The off platform stuff and arm angle stuff is nice but what sets him above fields (not by much in my book) is the release. It’s so compact and quick that it easily translates to the nfl.
Why is what’s unanimous among NFL teams relevant on a message board meant for FANS’ opinions? In 2017 there was no where else I could express my belief that Mahomes was the best QB prospect I ever took the time to evaluated? In 2018 where else could I try to dispel the notion that Darnold was the clear cut best QB in the draft or that all of Allen’s “red flags” were overblown? I don’t base my opinions based on what the majority thinks. Never have and never will.
