He played a game in December. If you think football is a game of close enough/let’s round it out; let’s just agree to disagree.
What the hell are you on about now? If he played a game in December he will have missed 21 months of football by the time we play in September, is that close enough for you, still a lot more than the one year you are trying to imply and just short of the 2 years the other guy was implying. Fuck me, you argue the toss about some strange things, 21 months with no football is a long time, see Bell for a prime example and soon we will see it again when Mosley makes an appearance, if he does.
His tape was exciting when I thought he would be the 3rd-5th QB off the board. However, at 2 his tape don’t match the hype.
I'd take Fields over Wilson. Still not 100% sure on either one. I'm hoping the jags severely fuck up by getting caught up in the hype pick either fields or wilson and we snag lawrence at 2.
While that's undoubtedly true, and will be a big difference, I still think that if JD does a good job building the team that within a couple of years there would be enough similarities, that one could draw some some decent conclusions.
Mosley legit missed 2 years by your standards 3. Another example of “close enough” “2 years 3 years close enough!” But you’re right I react when I feel people misrepresent information. It’s a peeve of mine; I’m a flawed man.
My feeling is that they also believe ATL are trending toward Trey Lance. I actually believe Trey Lance is the guy people have been sleeping on. He all the tools also, he will need coaching but not unlike Legler point, if he can be coached he could turn into a star QB.
Yeah, I understand. I do disagree because he makes great plays. That is what I like about him. Limited turnovers and mistakes too. Mostly accurate. What I don't like is what I listed earlier. Size, durability, one year wonder, playing at BYU with a lack of competition, etc. I think those are fair and valid worries. I like his tape though. Now maybe you guys watched way more of it than me, but I liked what I saw.
I still don't know what I have misrepresented tbh, 1 month at worst and that is because I trawled 19 sites and could only find the game in November listed. The first guy said 2 years and you tried to make it sound better but the cold hard facts are it is 21 month without a proper game by the time they suit up in September 21 and the 'my standards' comment? Really? So like I said he was out closer to two years than your one year, by the time 21 season begins, that is all it meant and tbh not that hard to understand either. I didn't work out Mosley's and didn't even give a timescale other than hint at it being a long time out of the game and again that is a fact, nothing misrepresented in the slightest. Mosley when he returns will have played 2 games in 31 months, which worries me greatly. My peeve is people misquoting me and then going off on a wrong tangent, it happens quite a lot on here.
By the time he steps on the football field for a regular season game again, he'll have played 114 snaps in 32 months (four months short of three years by my count). The last two games he played, he got hurt in the first one and re-injured himself/wasn't 100% healthy to play in the second. What's the point you're trying to make?
He is my choice but also tbh I would have liked to have traded down and then selected him but that doesn't look likely to happen now. QB's going first 4 picks?
Wont speak for others but for me its considering the risk of those concerns you outlined & then weighing them against his tape. While id take him round 1 & dont deny he has strengths, to ignore a moderate sized list of serious concerns & take a guy at 2, im expecting to be blown away by multiple undeniable elite traits. Thats not Wilson
I notice one of those plays, the rollout where he decides to not throw the ball and run out of bounds is not just similar, but in fact the exact play that a lot of these film breakdown genius guys and as a trickle-down our forum posters have used as a primary reason that Sam is not fit to QB in the NFL anymore. And there is Zach doing the exact, and I mean EXACT same thing. I'm thinking when your actually the QB facing that situation in real life where there is no pause and rewind it probably doesn't look as juicy as it does to the film breakdown experts in slow motion hindsight.
Sewel will have missed 21 months by the time the season comes around ffs can you not even understand that simple fact? Mosley last played October 2019, work it out for yourself why a comparison was made.
Then we all get to shoot ourselves in the face. Let's face facts, we are the Jets and whichever one we pick the other is bound by law to be better where ever they end up. J E T S Jets jets jets
While I hope the Jets take Wilson at #2, I'm not as certain as all the "experts" are that they will. I can easily see where JD either takes Sewell at #2 (although I don't think he would), or he trades back to take Sewell or another QB, or he takes a QB at #2 that isn't named Wilson. In other words, it wouldn't surprise me that SF traded up to #3 with a good chance of getting Wilson. Now, if Douglas doesn't show up for Fields Pro Day, I guess that would pretty much confirm that he's taking Wilson at #2. But at this point I don't share the same concrete belief that he's going to.
