No. The Jets are wrong considering we could've had Ryan Finley.

The only issue I have with this is how wide is the gap between Sewell and the others? Sewell hasn't played in 2 years and there are some other solid tackles. Do we really want to use our golden ticket on picking Sewell 2nd when there are so many other needs to be filled, and other solid tackles?

I find it strange Simms would be a fan of Lock but be so hard on Fields. Lock was a a bad decision maker & inaccurate QB in college. I guess as long as you make bad decisions & inaccurate fast it’s all good. #ProcessingSpeed

    How wide? Pretty wide
Hasn’t played in 2 years? Misleading, he played the 2019 season. With your logic, no player has played in a year.
Do we reall want to pick Sewell 2nd? I don’t; but I’d take him after trading back.

Its not my logic to say no player will have played in a year next season? Well it is my logic, but its also the truth.

I don’t think “the truth” means what you think it means.

From the last time a player is on the field one season to the first time he’s on the field the next, a year will not have gone by. If you think they spend that time getting fat and lazy, then Idk.

If i were one of these top QBs, I’d low key hope the Jags and Jets passed on me lol.

SF is a much better landing spot. Probably won’t even start year 1.

The following are some of the big name players who opted out of the 2020 college football season.

Rashawn Slater, Micah Parson, Wyatt Davis, Vera Tucker, Sewell, Jamar Chase.

You think Parsons, Chase are dropping from top ten?

Like is said, there is only one college player with a HOF label on him. We make excuses based on biases but excuse those same red flags when it’s a player we want.

Rankings are an irrelevant straw man argument. Did he believe they were NFL starters or not?

Just like how everyone holds up his QB record but also excuses the Rosen slot because well "everyone" got that wrong. He also never said Darnold would not be good, he just had him ranked lower than the others.

I mean, I still am hoping like hell and stressing more than I should about a stupid f*cking team in a stupid f*cking sport getting the QB2 decision correct in the draft. I'm just so tired at this point of decades of uninspiring QB play that my baseline has become "just don't get it flat-out WRONG".

I agree on wanting Joe & Co. to pick the right guy, because damnit, that's what they're paid for and what good is his rising star reputation for if he can't get this most important decision this franchise has faced in years correct? I just think there's a difference between what I'm saying, and "settling for second best" in a negative context. No matter who you are, the accurate evaluation and forecasting of college quarterback prospects is undeniably murky at best - there will be correct choices made based on great evaluation and forecasting, but then abject failure on decisions made with the exact same methods and vetting. The Jets in particular are not just bad at this at every management level possible, they also haven't even been able to luck/stumble onto the flipside "diamond in the rough" situation. We want MORE at this point.

The rabid fan in me wants the Jets to not only choose the best QB career of all those available at #2, but I'll be irrationally rooting like hell for him to be better than Lawrence, too - even though the Jets had no option to pick him. Objectively though, the odds aren't awesome of getting QB right in any NFL draft after #1, though, and if the Jets can end up with a QB that actually deserves a second contract and allows the franchise to move up a level or two when it comes to team construction, then I'll take that all day over flat out picking "the wrong guy".

My biggest current nightmare is that 5 years from now it becomes clear that there was no right QB decision in this draft aside from not picking one. But lets not talk about that. :D

By the way, the 49ers don't have 2 options they want at #3 overall. They have 1 option. Their guy. This is calculated. They know Trevor Lawrence is going to Jacksonville. They know what the Jets are doing, which many of us think is Zach Wilson at #2. Robert Saleh and Mike Lafleur probably have a close relationship to John Lynch. San Francisco doesn't jump to #3 unless they know exactly who they are trading up for. They are run well, unlike Mac and the Jets in 2018.

When did he play last in 2019?

He won't play again until September 21 he last played 2 November 19 (as far as I can see) So just shy of two years then, certainly closer to two than one

He is clearly not underwhelming though. Posts like that lose credibility to me. The concerns on Wilson are his size, past injuries, being a one year wonder, and durability. He has exciting tape when you watch so saying that is ridiculous.

Lol. I forgot about Jones. We can probably add the Giants to the list of teams needing a QB next year.
