I find your points ridiculous. There’s no need to argue about it. I’m perfectly comfortable with agreeing to disagree.

I never felt Darnold was in control.

He was always careless with the ball and his hype was based on his ability to make all the throws, his leadership and his production. I never got the sense he was fluid on his throws or his pocket movement like Wilson. Actually most of the time it looked like he was handling a grenade out there.

I still think Darnold can be sucessful but I don't think it will be with the Jets.

This still isn't addressing my points, you're just hand waiving them away calling them ridiculous.

You don't see the irony in an article talking about a record number of black QB's starting using it to claim racism because not enough of a big deal was made about it?

I would have thought LeFleur would have been there and maybe the QB coach Calabrese.

Both LaFleur and Saleh were also there.

Everybody from the Jets was there. Read the thread. (Limited to 3).

  7. Either/Or.

But second scenario.Moreso the trade down portion than so Sam.Id prefer kicking the can down the road on QB till next draft when CFB/Draft hopefullly returns to normal

Too many needs on both sides of the ball to ensure the offense gets the TLC it needs to give a young QB a fighting chance.Would only take a QB if hes truly transcendent. Im not sold on any of the QBs being such yr 1 & why risk throwing them into the fire if the IOL is still gonna suck & ruining them right off the bat? Fields & Lance are guys that could sit for a yr & be developed.Wilson to me is a guy you have to play early bc half the appeal is the refined skill..he doesnt have the same type of development progression or ceiling as Fields or Lance.

Now we’re gonna take this guy w several red flags that we are simply overlooking

    1.Injury history
    2. Character whispers
3.1 year of production during a dopey covid season
    4. A notch below elite physical traits
    5. Couldnt even agility drillls at his pro day bc surprise..hes injured w a hammy!

These are things that get highlighted in red that become cardinal sins that get GMs fired 3 years later.

I understand people flat out disagree..but thats my feeling on all of this.

I didn't hear anything about him being injured today. What's the story on this?

Maybe you didn’t but the “processing speed” was an alleged strength of his in the draft community.

Jets have their size small jersey ready for Wilson on draft night

He didn't do any drills at all (aside from just throwing) because he Is dealing with an injured hamstring currently. It's not a serious injury, but, It's more indicative of what may be around the corner for us.

The kid has been Injured a lot over the course of his career and he hasn't even made It to the NFL yet.

I hope you are wrong if we pick him and that you are not just saying that because you are a Ohio State fan.

It is a red flag! I already pointed that out. That would make me pause but I am no medical specialist so I don't know if it can be recurrent or simply very bad luck.

That being said if I had concern with his injuries I would be more interested in trading down then getting Fields.

I will still look at Fields pro day and maybe he will change my view on him.

But the injuries 100% worry me. As talented as he is you need a guy that can stay on the field (no pun intended)

I think there are a lot of factors. I for one feel the desire to be first on the next Mahomes plays a part. Recency bias also plays a part. The sexiness of off platform throws...etc....etc. Included in that jambalaya pot is tacit racism. How big a portion is the only debatable part IMO?

The assumption right before pro day started was that SF called the Jets for a trade but no movement, so they immediately finalized a deal with Miami. The assumption is also that SF keeps options open for. Watson trade, or they will nail the selection after Fields pro day. Meantime Miami moved down three spots and got a first and a second for next year. For them a great move

I'm not. If I thought Fields was bad, I wouldn't advocate for him to potentially be on this team. I can promise you that.

I have NEVER went to bat for any other OSU QB. They aren't the same.

I hope I am wrong too, trust me. I am a NYJ fan, alongside an OSU fan. I don't want an OSU player for the sake of having an OSU player on this team. I want the NYJ's to win. Period.

dolphins had a shit draft last year and have no QB.....relax....they dropped 3 spots and added a 1 in two years fro now.......If Zach Wilson is the man, we're already ahead of Miami.

Pro day doesn’t mean much if they don’t do any other drills. That s just my opinion.

So is Wilson being compared to potentially the other Wilson from the Seahawks with his arm accuracy, zip and mobility? Except he is slightly taller?

To be fair though you've also stated that Ohio State's offense is very QB friendly and doesn't require as much decision making as others. You've also said this has been less true with Fields but how much less true? I don't think we can completely ignore it as a concern if it's still a relatively QB friendly offense.
