Good for Big Fluffy, he got his big payday. To be fair, he stacked up 5.5 sacks in 2 games against the Cowboys and Seahawks whose offensive lines were decimated by injuries late in the season, but you can only play who you line up against so let the Giants pay the man.
It is a ton of money. Like you said though, 11.5 sacks; excellent against the run, and versatile enough to play any position on the DL.. Guys like that get paid a lot.
That's great and all, but a football season is more than just 8 games. Watson put up 4800 yards, 33 touchdowns to 7 interceptions, and 9 YPA, NINE YARDS PER ATTEMPT on a trash football team. No defense, no skill position talent besides Fuller, and no offensive line. It's not mental gymnastics, it's realizing that Watson is a Mahomes level QB. Also, I didn't say 8 QBs were better. I said Wilson was 5-7 and in my own list I put him at 5.
I don't think they are smoking anything. Williams produced big time numbers last year and was VERY good. His production matches the deal he struck.
I agree he produced last year def doesn't equal what he got paid, that's a contract for a guy who has been consistent and producing at a high level for years on out he has not. Not our problem anymore tho he was decent for us and I'm glad we didnt give him that.
