He won't be a FQB if the rest of the team sucks...

This is a young man's world, C. Patience is for suckers.

There will never be a better QB available for trade or in FA than Deshaun Watson and this is the last year that any possible FQBs will be available in the draft.

    It's now or never.

Obviously the instant gratification generation is running things these days Byz. With the end of the world pending, I get it. Don't plan for tomorrow as there's NO tomorrow anyway. Sure, trade every DP we have like Ditka did back in the day for one guy. Kinda like buying a Tesla when you live in Fallujah.

Lol. He's no Ashtyn Davis that's for sure.

There are some evaluators who think he is a giant, entitled d-bag: "Jonny Manzel without the drugs". So there's that haha.

It's amazing how we always seem to get the best player in the draft at whatever position (L Williams, J Adams, Q Williams) yet we are always 6-10 doormats, (or worse) drafting at the top of every draft. This is the kiss of death imo.

I've met Joe Theisman before. It is interesting that he had time to watch Zach Wilson tape, because I would assume he just watches old highlights of himself 24/7.

That's exactly how he strikes me.

Of course. There was a time back in 2021 that basement posters posted some bad crap about him on TheGangGreen portal. Zach was crushed and went into a dark depression but his strong character rose him above the noise, and helped make him the great man and FQB he is today.

I know you're being sarcastic, but there really may never be a better QB available for trade or in FA than Watson.

    So, here's the thing.

Nobody knows who the 2nd best QB in this draft is. The way you can tell that is that people are coming in from all angles, talking up Fields, Wilson, Lance, etc. There is no consensus on who #2 is.

What that means is that taking a QB on the #2 is going to be even riskier than it is in years where everybody has a consensus on the #2 (Marcus Mariota, Carson Wentz, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Leaf, etc.)

This years QB's after Lawrence have trap written all over them for the teams drafting in the top 5 or 6. They're all potentially decent value later in the 1st round but they are death on flaming ice-skates on the #2,#3,#4, etc.

So this top 5 QB won 1 playoff game went 4-12. With a team with more talent then the Jets have. How do you build a team around your top 5 QB when you have no first no second lose Williams, Marcus Mayes and have 60 million in cap space which is not going to fill all the holes this team has. If you lose William plus Mayes now you have to replace them too. This is same logic of Mike Ditka trading his entire draft plus following years first to draft Ricky Williams this is sure way to kill a franchise get your Gm and coach fired in 2 years. Watch your Diva top 5 QB demand a trade in 2 years when the Jets completely suck because they have no picks to build a team.

Yea. For the record, if the Jets don't get Watson, I'm all for Wilson at #2.

And they were right for awhile. Mayfield chilled out and became more humble after his rookie year though. That tends to be a rarity though. Rookie QBs have enter with humility and confidence, not arrogance. Most rookie QBs with egos go the way of Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Josh Rosen, and Johnny Manziel. If there are questions about Wilson's character, that seriously needs to be considered.

You are guaranteed to not win if you don’t have a franchise qb. We all know that. So what do you want to do, get a guaranteed franchise qb and try to win, or keep what you know is not a franchise qb (darnold) or continue to play the Vegas slot machine (draft) hoping you hit one. The jets have played that game for the last 50 years, you think you’re going to hit this year? What if you don’t? Grab Watson which is a guarantee and you put yourself in the conversation. Then get creative and fill in the gaps like everyone else does. It’s pretty simple.

I agree until the last part. I want Watson but it shouldn't be "Watson or bust" that a lot of fans are making it out to be

Is Wilson really worth a number #2? Not saying I don’t want him but for me ideal is to trade down get extra picks and still take the risk in getting Wilson with their first pick whether it’s 4, 5,6 or whatever. Lot to happen in the next couple months.

Wilson has barely ever played against a top D1 defense, moreless an NFL defense. There is no way he is worth the #2 pick for a rebuilding team.
