Shannon Sharpe is the only one to come out with sources. Everyone else, including Rich Cimini, is just speculating and passing it off as actual information.
He's talking about potential trades with Jacksonville for the #1 pick. Everyone and their mother's knows that isn't happening. I don't think any of these NFL insiders know anything at the moment.
Schefter, Mort, and Trey Wingo have always wanted the Jets to be awful. They constantly clown on the franchise (rightfully so at times), but it's so blatantly obvious they go out of the way to do it.
He did that while laughing on Ross Tucker's podcast while talking about how people take everything he tweets - even if he says "HYPOTHETICALLY" or something similar - and make it into something that is clearly not what he says. Here's the video - starts at 13:50ish.
Lot's of conflicting information out there, but Schefter or Mortenson didn't say that on TV on ESPN today. The closest Schefter has gotten to saying the Jets aren't in is, "I wouldn't get my hopes up." on Greenburg's radio show yesterday. Schefter didn't include Watson in a Jets uniform when he posted him in other uniforms on his twitter feed. When a fan responded you forgot about the Jets, Mortenson tweeted, "No he didn't." Schefter and Mortenson are obviously very connected and have no reason to want to get this wrong. At the same time others have reported that the Jets are Watson's preference and the Jets are being aggressive in going after Watson. So who would benefit from the conflicting information? The Texans would want teams to believe the Jets are in the mix because that raises the price for everyone else. Watson actually would want the team he's going to to give up as little as possible, so if he wasn't willing to go to the Jets, that's probably where this is coming from.
My final offer would be (assuming houston doesn't want Sam) #2, #23 2022 first round (higher pick) 2023 first round Quinton Williams
Big Ben doesn't want to retire. I think we can take the Steelers out of the mix right? How could they make Roethlisbergers massive cap charge and Watson's work at the same time. And why would Watson want to play there and sit behind that geriatric then you think about Washington and that organization is just as much of a mess as Houston's right now. Why would he want to go there? Have to think its between Jets and Miami
Rich was speculating. It was his opinion, nothing about "what I hear" or "someone close to blah blah blah." He was basically saying that he can't see it because the Jets have been bad.
Good idea, we still get to keep Quinnen and trade his evil twin Quinton! Maybe they won't notice. Oh, and 4 first round picks AND Q? LOL.
Ah yes. That's The auto correct on my phone. But seriously, what do you think it works take? And why wouldn't you make this deal?
I'm as big a proponent as anyone of trading for Watson but this is way too rich even for my blood. Four first round picks plus a budding star? No thanks. My offer would be: 2021 first (#2) 2022 first (higher pick) 2023 first 2022 second I'd probably give up the 2021 second if they insisted over 2022, but we have to keep one of #23 and the 2021 second.
A couple of things come to mind with this whole DW to the Jets: 1. Some of these trade scenarios scare the bejesus out of me. 2. Cimini is a twat.
