You know what was nice about that press conference? No one will be making jokes about it anytime in the near future.
one thing about Darnold and the locker room......when darnold got hurt earlier in the year from an obvious latest/cheap shot (forgot what game). NO One i mean no one on offense or the sidelines came to his defense. i thought that was bush and not quite sure what that means as far as locker room status.
I don't like that he isn't calling plays... and actually don't like how he answered that question. ftr, He was the guy I wanted so ..
Clearly not a mumbler with dead eyes, like Bowles or Mangini. Strong, articulate...looks like he can lead men. Not a big talker like Rex or Herm , so we don't have to deal with that. Not even worth comparing to Gase.
mac's face staring at him is great. he looks like why the fuck did we hire this guy. I think it was a CJ called doesn't look like mac wanted him at all
wow just wow I actually hadn’t seen that in real time...only the still pictures of it seeing it now...oh man that guy is not right jeez that’s bad
I didn't really get that vibe from him to be honest. Its in no way saying he's gonna be a bad coach because press conferences dont mean anything. But he seemed nervous, with some canned answers like he was winging it a little. I expected to see the focused intelligent guy he appears to be on the sideline but he didn't come across that way in the press conference, in my opinion. Maybe the suits and the media and the Zoom crap had him out of his element a little.
I’m the opposite; I much prefer he be the head coach, since that’s what he’s been hired to do, than be the defensive coordinator. Part of being a great coach is identifying and hiring coordinators who understand and can execute what you want done.
I disagree. I thought he looked very comfortable. Spoke clearly, and knew exactly what he wanted to convey. Did he stutter or fumble a couple times? Yeah. It's okay to be a little nervous, that's a sign It's important to him. It wasn't a big deal though and he seemed very confident to me otherwise. I also thought he actually sounded like a man with a true plan. A true vision and structure. You want a guy that looked nervous, scared, and unintelligent. Go watch Gases introduction presser. Night and day.
And qualified that later by saying the entire roster will be reviewed in the coming weeks to see where the talent fits the schemes they want to implement.... it will be collaborative effort (repeated this multiple times) between his coaches and JD's team.... lost of work ahead of them
h also said he's reached out to every player on the team already. sees like he started once he was signed. becton said he got a call 24 hours after news break from saleh but didn't answer it because he didn't recognize the number. but said it was nice to be called by his coach. I think Q really thrives in salehs D.
He looked nervous but who among us didn't when they were addressing people on the first day of their job. I am slowly turning into a darksider like my grandpa @Cman65 I am very excited and hopeful. But I won't go crazy with emotions just yet. Let's see the play on the field. Let's see how he manages the adversity. He is the top dog and this is the first time he is the top dog. I hope things work out for him. P.S. Him being the first Muslim head coach made the news in Turkey. And I am sure it was news in other Muslim countries as well. Not bad for Jets publicity
