The way it sounds and the way it seems to be going I wonder if there's a team or teams doing some tampering behind the scenes. And it's not a good look at all for Watson.
I completely disagree. But even if you think that - why would he care? He instantly becomes the most sought after player since the Colts released Peyton Manning if he forces his way out. And with the way Bill O'Brien handled everything surrounding DeAndre Hopkins and trading for Laremy Tunsil - who could blame him?
I would be more worried about the Pats sneaking in here if I were you guys. They originally denied the Texans the right to interview Casrieo. Then changed there mind a day later. I wouldn’t put it past Bill from having something up his sleeve. They have plenty of cap space the #15 pick. And Gilmore or Jackson to throw in for a trade.
I don't think Gilmore is an attractive piece. 30 year old corner with a big cap number coming off a season ending injury. Jackson had a nice season. Opportunistic ball hawk but again - is a corner you will have to pay shortly a very attractive piece? I don't doubt that the Patriots could be a player though. Watson can give Belichick his final run to prove he's better than Brady.
Kinda dumb to single that guy out even if he's somewhat right. They've had 5 winning seasons in 7 years, 4 division titles/playoff appearances and drafted Watson since he was hired in 2013. They are a current dumpster fire though.
He's obviously unhappy and feels like his career was wasted in Houston. I can't really blame him, but in the end he's just making himself miserable and making himself look bad in the process. Still, I think it says something that a former great of that team has such contempt for the team and is telling Watson to force his way out.
I'd do just about anything reasonable to acquire him - he's anything but entitled. Watson is a legit good dude. He's just a Black man playing for an organization that doesn't seem to have any awareness - nor care to have any awareness - of race issues in America. Watson grew up very poor and had to help raise his siblings in high school when his mom got stage 5 tongue cancer. Thankfully she survived. Remember how Warrick Dunn used to build houses for Habitat for Humanity? The Watson family was actually the beneficiary of one such house: His mom still lives there, and Watson recently had it remodeled.
Just FYI: https://www.nj.com/jets/2021/01/was-angry-deshaun-watson-scouting-jets-in-nj-on-thursday-night.html Edit: He was probably on his way to Brooklyn to talk strats with Harden.
Caparoso said this morning he thinks it would take Jets #2 Jets #34 Jets 2022 1st Jets 2022 2nd That is a homerun trade and there is no way they would take that. You're telling me we would still have 2 1's within the next 2 years and Watson? Where is the dotted line....? I'm just hoping they don't trade him to Miaim. That would be miserable. I personally think they just sign EB to try and put water on the fire, but who knows.
Why wouldn't Houston take that? I think they would. My suggestion was: 2nd overall 2021 23rd overall 2021 (SEA pick) SEA 1st Rounder 2022 Sam Darnold
I think its MODELED on Habitat, but it is its own entity- NOT affiliated w/ habitat in any way "Homes for the Holidays (HFTH) is our flagship program at Warrick Dunn Charities. " and yes, anything reasonable!!! great great player!! WATSON!!! (@ 2;13)
Unfortunately Bill O'Brien is gone, so the odds of getting Watson relatively cheap are probably much lower.
