I see all these crazy picks for Watson on here.. No way am I trading 2-3 first rounders + for Watson. That’s ridiculous!!! I’d rather trade Jamal’s picks to move up for Lawrence on a rookie deal who is a better version of Watkins. I’d trade #2 overall straight up for Watson. They get Fields on a rookie deal and we get Watson and take on his salary.
Yup. Watson simply isn’t worth that much to us — 2-3 first rounders — in the position we are in to draft a highly rated QB. That’s why I use the Lawrence example — the Texans wound trade him for the Lawrence pick straight, so what they’d demand in return is relative to the player they are after with the pick. If they don’t want Fields they could demand more first round picks, and get them from another team trading lower. But I doubt they would look to jettison Watson for a likely non-QB first round pick and pass on a chance to draft Watson’s cheaper replacement.
thats right they made it over arizona lol. we also seen the "goat" tom brady lost to eli manning twice and nick foles in a superbowl. it takes more then a QB to be a good team
I still feel we need to draft Fields...I think the way he plays in the Championship game will say alot.We need a QB if we dont take Fields and we trade Darnold then what are we doing exactly? Are we trying to go 0-16 again next year?
The Texans would love to, Jax wouldn't do it. The Jags would prefer Lawrence on a rookie deal rather than take on a huge contract. With that said, Watson would energize a sleepy fanbase, being from the area (GA), but its a wash since Lawrence would do the same (probably even more). Thinking out loud here, folks. 35 years of torment being a Jet fan takes its toll on me mentally.
One thing I am concerned with is Watson possibly going to Miami. Miami can offer Tua, #3 pick, and #18 pick to get this done. That's a lot of value. Miami is also a 10 win team, so Watson would have no reservations to go there from competitive perspective. And we do not want Watson on Miami, that's for sure!
Love Watson but unfortunately Jets have too many holes to have impact and playoff caliber team. One thing if the Jets were like in the Dolphins situation, you make that deal!
Gtfo with this shit 2 or 3 first round picks? fuck that Knowing us he’ll get hurt week one stop with the quick fix shit my god people never learn
Yep. And Kyler Murry has failed to make the playoffs yet again. But Fields would take our 2-14 butts to the playoffs in no time. That is the current mania of this board.
Too bad Bill O'Brien isn't still around, we could have gotten Watson for Darnold and a second rounder.
If Houston has any brains left they should build a team around their FQB and stop making dumb ass trades that did nothing but weaken the team. Trading his top WR was as stupid as it can be. Now talk about trading a proven super star for Sam or an unproven rookie. Crazy shit. I don’t know why so many people think that Houston is such a great place for a HC to go, when half their talent base is pissed off at the total lack of vision and senior leadership.
Are ya ready for this? Lawrence and Fields intrigue me more tha D Watson especially since Trevor has been compared to him but Of course TL the generational talent Fields will show up Monday and.. Watson talk forgotten FA never really take you far anyway..Vikings fans know that
If Watson is traded the Texans will have to eat at least $16.2 million dollars in dead cap money. Beyond an offer of 3 or 4 number 1s there is no incentive to trade him, regardless of what he wants.
If there's one thing Bill O'Brien hates, it's when his poor owners have to scrap together pennies to continue to pay superstars.
I could see Miami trading Tua, number 3 overall and the second rd pick from Houston for Watson. Gives Houston a QB, and their draft back .
Would JD bring him into the process if we acquired him? I don't think so. A team like the Panthers, Falcons, Bears should be all over this
I don't see this actually happening at all - it's much ado about nothing. When was the last time a guy who was generally accepted as already being a franchise QB was traded at the beginning of his prime?
