    First overall pick too!

Patriots had him and he did nothing

Which Vinny Testaverde? You can't really be calling the guy with the lifetime completion average of 56.5% very good, can you?

Jeff Blake? This is just a joke, right?

Completion percentages used to be lower for everyone when Testaverde played.

More proof that the NFL has become a passing league. While of course the Jets "stayed the course", and "practiced patience" by relying on that outdated maxim "Defense wins championships". Yep, and blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while too.

Darnold doesn't have that winner's instinct. I don't think he will ever be good. Look at this year, he obviously knows he needs to win..any game.. A game.. or this team will draft Trevor Lawrence. What kind of man is okay with losing their job like that? Oh but his shoulder hurts???

Come on man, you gotta get your ass out there and play. Lay it all on the line as if your livelihood is on the line. Because it is.. Duh. Its sickening watching him give up like this.

Then he plays and throws check downs all game for 120 yards? Break out the surfboards, who cares am I right? he will be out of the league and back in So Cal in a couple years and he'll brag up to women how he played for USC. He won't even mention his failed NFL venture

Of course they were, but Testaverde was not a standout in his own time - how could he be someone called really good just because he got moved to another team?

He was around for what, 18 years, and hit the Pro Bowl twice?

If I'm Sam, I'm not even coming back to this dumpster fire. The writing has been on the wall for a few weeks that we most likely will take a QB at 1 or 2 (pending where we land). Just rest and rehab your shoulder so you aren't damaged goods for other teams.

Just picking up on my previous post - I think that given that everyone is either having to go back a long time or is otherwise pstruggling to come up with any good examples (other than Steve Young) it does seem pretty clear that when a young QB gets let go because they don't look good then its very unlikely that they are going to catch on and suddenly become good on another team - I hope it pans out for Darnold but at this point it just does not seem likely (I tried to hold out hope for as long as I could that it would happen with the Jets but I am now in the "its done" camp)

Can't blame him - continuing to play on this team isnt going to do him any good in terms of trying to win some suitors

If Flacco plays well, that hurts Sam's trade value as much as Sam playing poorly.

Eventually I will merge this with another Sam thread but allow me to curse.

This fucker from California shits the bed when games mean something but plays lights out when we want Jets to lose for a better draft pick.

    Really hate this about Darnold.
Fuck you dude. Either win in September/October or just get the fuck out of here. Geez.

At least he's good at something. Would make him the first QB since Favre to have a strength at...something. :D

Its so frustrating. He is a good kid but just not good enough to run a offense consistently.

However, why are we winning this game!?!?!?
