Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but Gore averaged 2.6 YPC yesterday. There are literally 49 different RB's in the NFL who are averaging more than that this season.
Watch a replay of Gore's last reception for that critical first down and tell me what you see.....Let's see how good you are at this. And when you watch his last play, remember we don't have 49 different RBs on the team....Gase had Frank Gore and two rookies. I think he made the right call.
Gore may have done the right thing on the final play but who's to say it's even a one score game at the end if we had a RB who averaged more than 2.6 YPC the rest of the game?
Ah my bad. I didn't know the Jets were good enough to actually dominate the rams versus just beating them if we had only used Adams in place of Frankie Gore! No, but seriously...on that last catch for the 1st down to seal the game, what impressed me is what Gore did immediately after catching the rock. He knew he was a yard short, and he knew all we needed was that 1st down and we win the game, so what he did was lunge his body backwards for the last 2 yards. Almost any other RB would have started to turn their shoulders to gain an downhill advantage and tried to take off. Some may have started to turn before they secured the ball and dropped it. But Gore knew we only needed 1-2 yards to win so he drove his body backwards instantly, which was the only way he was going to pick it up since he was hit by 2 LBers almost immediately. If he had even started to turn upfield, even just his head, we end up punting the ball back to the rams with 2 mins left (and we probably draft trevor....ouch). That's one tiny example of how Gore's 17 years of experience paid off for Gase in the one moment. Us? not so much. But I do give Gase credit of calling on his most experienced back to convert that critical 1st down.
even if true it's not the same thing. ty started 1 game in 2019 for detroit. and adams started 5 games for philly in 2018
You could be right. If Gase had sat Gore and went with the young legs we might of had a 10-14 point lead and no need for late game heroics. Ty looked pretty good on the TD catch and run. I know we bitch about running Gore up the middle, but that's about the only run play left in his tank. Gore ain't winning many end-a-rounds. About the only advantage of running Gore up the gut is it helps keeps the D honest, plus when he stays in to block he's pretty good at it. Watch the you-tube of his highlights the last game (and probably the Riaders game too). Gore ripped off some nice runs. Several for 1st downs. He smashed a nice 8 yard run for 1st down on the series before he caught the winning pass, so it's not like Gore is worthless. He's still pretty good at what he's asked to do.
Nania is a great follow. Def check him out and Sabo. Made me way more knowledgeable as a fan and these players
Also didn’t realize Maulet played exclusively at FS. Maye played SS closer to the box...Guidry in the slot with Hall n Bless on the outside. The whole secondary played well I thought so kudos there.
adams did better running up the gut then gore an he can go outside. ty is a speed guy but a good 3rd down back and good pass catcher. adams and ty compliment each othe well. gore on the field doesn't do anything for us
