There are posters here who think it is good, so we can now trade back and get more picks. That it will speed up the rebuild. Without a QB, none of it matters.
I mean...this really is it. I had fun running up the Gase approval rating poll and campaigning for him to return as your HC. But this crazy-*** person has no business in the NFL. I’m sorry, guys, and I look forward to good rivalry games again soon.
The players never gave up. Piss poor coaching and all. Good for them. Fuck the tank notion, if it was meant for us to get TL so be it. No team in the NFL is tanking for anything. Get over it fans. As long as GASE IS GONE IM HAPPY.
Well, tell that to the 10 teams that Goff already beat this year. I know they played the NCF East, witch buffers their record a bit, but come on. Jets played pretty good today. About as good as they played 2 weeks ago against Carr and the Raiders. I know we're not a great of even a good team, and can lay an egg at any time, but today the team played like a team. Maye's pass break up to give the ball back to the Jets, and Sam's hookup with Gore for our last 1st down, were both really good plays. It's not like the Rams called a cover zero and let a team they had beaten all day come away with a win.
They should force Peyton to come in and coach this team. Seems like he owes us something after he sold us on his unqualified buddy.
They should be forced to keep Sam. No "new QB" to tell season tickets off of. Even Douglas said he came here because of the mone- I mean Darnold. You broke it you bought it. Get Sewell and Thuney and build an offensive line that can give the QB forever to throw.
Even with forever to throw, I'm not sure that Darnold can progress much with us. He's going to need someone to come in and teach him how to read an NFL defense much better than Gase has done, for starters.
I know right? I have never actually HEARD Manning talk about Adam Gase. Actually, I didn't even know Gase was the OC back then. I guess he vouched for Gase? but I would like the NFL to do a sit down with him to see what he REALLY thought about Gase.
Well maybe, but remember LAST season when Sam was literally RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE on almost every snap? Sam had the least 'time to throw' of any QB last season, and Gase used like 22 different o-line combos. This year started out about the same, even with Becton, but the oline as gotten better with more playing time together, and it for sure has shown. Sam had a clean pocket 2 weeks ago (Raiders) and a pretty clean pocket today. What Sam REALLY needs is WRs he's familiar with and WRs who can gain a least 2 inches of separation. That's what Sam needs. Oh, and a HC.
I'd like to see him against a team that isn't mailing it in. For whatever it's worth, I can't help but think that Darnold looked good because the other team wasn't fully invested in either game. The Raiders and the Rams both came out like they'd already had the game in hand and didn't take the Jets seriously. And, honestly, I thought Darnold played like garbage against the Raiders. I'll give him his due, he played well today, but we're almost the point where we're going to have to shell out major money to keep him. He hasn't been worth it and another season of trying to evaluate him just feels pointless.
Well, Crowder seems to be able to. But with the time Sam has had to throw, no, Perriman and Mimms don't seem to be able to gain significant separation. Now if Sam (or any QB really) had an extra second to second and a half? Then ya, they could probably get open more times than not.
