Funny because the entire college football world has been creaming their pants about Kedon Slovis. High completion percentage in the air raid and moves around like he has cement blocks attached to his feet. He'll be a top pick next year. Same type of dude as all of these USC quarterbacks too.
name the last usc qb who has won a super bowl! only one who comes to mind is tom flores, a backup in the 70's on the raiders , whose starter was jim plunkett from stanford. after the sanchez mess, you hoped the jets knew better but mac blew it, wasted one first round pick and 3 second round picks.
https://nypost.com/2020/12/14/sam-darnold-is-not-the-answer-for-the-jets/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site buttons&utm_campaign=site buttons Bortles comparison is spot on, Bortles had better stats too
from your article: Sunday’s loss was the Jets’ 100th since 2011. Their record in the last 10 years is now 57-100, a winning percentage of .363 57-100, in 10 years. Johnsons are a joke
ehhhh.... not really. Darnold never played on a team close to the talent Bortles teams had when he finally shit the bed.
That is just brutal. A decade of being an absolute laughingstock. And people are worried about going 0-16 to grab a generational QB talent, someone who has the best chance to turn this around. Sam regretfully has failed to turn the Jets around. You can say what you will around talent around him, etc, but when old Joe Flacco, who was already a back-up in NFL coming off a serious injury has 14 points higher passer rating than Sam on the same exact team, people need to realize the obvious. To turn this around we need to hit the absolute rock bottom and get TL.
Very unlikely imo. I think the best we can hope for is a third and I'm highly skeptical we could even get that.
Sam was good, not great. And that's about as good as it ever gets for him, next week he could go out there and throw three interceptions. He isn't the answer.
Yes, even with Adam Gase and Dogwell Logjams the 'offensive gurus' Chris Johnson pegged them as (not to mention the Bowles staff as well). Sam's done here.
