I would NOT put the game in the hands of the zebras hoping they don't call a phantom PI in the endzone. All 5 refs had their flags at the ready, just incase the pass was incomplete. A phantom roughing the passer on the other hand is only an 1st down + 15, game still over.
Exactly. Which brings up the legality of it all. After all the NFL (supposedly) sells competition not the illusion of competition otherwise what's the difference between the NFL and pro wrestling? And again there is legalized gambling involved too. What the Jets are doing is not a secret anymore we see it on the board all the time with the talk of tanking and today after the game it was mentioned by the CBS studio crew. Are laws being broken here? Where are the authorities? The government? Or is it this easy for results, draft slotting to be manipulated in pro sports?
not that its what were talking about at this point but... no i wouldnt want to keep williams. its obvious he still coaches the same as he always did. dirty, not worried about completely screwing up the game in order to try and get a shot on someone and entirely too aggressive. it works great when you have jamal adams, who is playing really well today btw, but not so much when you dont.
He's a genuis if he wins the game on the last play when the Jets had probably like a 95 percent probability rating to win the game?
The players were absolutely trying to win. There was fire in their bellies. Not so with the coaching.
I think Greg Williams said fx ck you Adam Gase, watch this and smiled a little knowing Adam would cement his spot as the worst head coach in nfl history. All you need to do at that point is to prevent them from getting into the end zoneBlitz one guy if you think u need to but to play man with those guys . Greg Williams has quite a history in the nfl. No too much of it is flattering. I hate Adam Gase, he is an awful coach and human being, however I would not blame him one bit if he walked up and clocked Williams.
Of course it should be up to the new coach, but I don't see why it's even a question. Gregg Williams has somehow managed to convince some people he's a top DC, when there is decades of evidence that he simply isn't. His defenses have been below average much more often than above average during his career as DC and HC. I can't think of any reason why the team would want to keep him around.
I dunno about GW ..if he is in on the Tank he handed the Raiders the game . I would let the GM and next HC decide what to do with him I dont he is the worst DC in Football... .I mean who would you replace him with?
I think, williams is getting some side bucks to be in on the tank. Kept it close enough to look good and tried to give the game away a few times but oakland is so overrated and inconsistent they almost lost Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
If Kaci Rodgers pulled this stunt then I would consider it a reflection of just how bad he is as a DC, but for Greg Williams to do what he did, he should be fired tomorrow. No credible DC blitzes with the game in hand and a secondary made up of inexperienced rookies. That was an embarrassment to the NFL and a slap in the face to the Jets organization and fans.
I’m not sure what’s scarier.. Did GW call that play to loose the game for the tank? If so what compensation is he getting to do this to his career? handshake deal he will be retained?
Did anyone ask him after the game why he called that defense? I would love to hear him defend that decision without saying "I was trying to lose, asshole." That would be the first question I would ask if I was considering hiring him.
