Seriously. 5 weeks left to go in the season and I am at the edge of my seat for Jets games. Last time I felt like this was Bowles' first season. December games were meaningful. Now it is a different excitement. I guess I gotta thank Gase for this wonderful achievement. Hang onto your seats folks, we are in the final stretch with tons to look for.
Unstoppable Force: The Jets always lose big games. Immovable Object: The Jets always let us down in big games. Which one will prevail? Tune in to find out!!!
As usual the Jets are playing for the chance to win the offseason. I miss the days where, in the 3rd or 4th quarter, I would explain to friends and family almost exactly how the .500ish Jets would blow their lead and come from ahead to lose. Used to freak people out, especially an ex’s family of Giants fans. Better days...
If Flacco plays we have a chance to win, Darnold plays it's 187 yds and 2 picks and 3-6 pts....24-6 Raiders
The good news is that the Jets would have to win 3 games to miss out of Justin Fields which is not happening so that’s the worst we can do at this point.
This is the most exciting and tense Jet season that I have seen in quite awhile if not ever. The Nick Folk kick felt like the Monday Night Miracle game. I think it is because in a normal season we have a margin of error where we can lose games and still make the playoffs. With the Jags refusing to win we have to be perfect every single week. Which makes every game a tense playoff game that not only effects this year but our next 15 years of football. There is an argument to be made that these next 5 games might be the most consequential games in Jet history. We have to look at this one game at a time. If we can find a way to lose to the Raiders we should be able to get to 0-14 which gives us a chance at the Trevor Lawrence promised land future. Go Raiders!!!
yeah it doesn't matter at this point. Its going to be a shot at Lawrence or Fields either way and they are both solid prospects
Lmao I'm telling you, im more interested now then i was last season. Im kinda proud for them to go full 76ers. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
IMO our tank is going to be dependent upon this: 1) The Jags get lucky just 1 game and win 1 more (having to go 0-16 to get the pick just isn't ideal) Vikings this week is a possible win Ravens without Lamar would be winnable Bears at Jacksonville is winnable, especially if they are eliminated by then with their injured QBs Colts is winnable to! They already beat them, and they may have locked in a playoff spot by then and I'm sure they don't want TL in their division =) 2) The Browns and Pats have a reason to play hard for our games with them Essentially we hope the Browns have to win our game to stay in WC contention or maybe win their division (unlikelier at this point) The Pats are still technically in it that last game and have a reason to win it, even if they need help Right now, it would seem we are still "likely" to get that first pick, but I would say its more of a 60-40 shot. Well see. It has been frustrating to see the Jags lose games they should have won, but in all fairness, we lost two games we should have won in New England and Denver so i guess things are pretty much where they should be at this point. Long live the 2020 tank!
This is still not a doomsday scenario-- TL will come out either way, the worst case scenario is his agent tells JD that he wants a trade. We will end up getting the biggest haul in NFL history--which is worth more because the decrease in salary cap! If we get an elite head coach, with those picks and all our cap space....this team will have the best leverage of any of the 32 NFL franchises over the next 3 years. This doesn't guarantee a SB of course, but it does rebuild the roster at lightening speed.
Agreed. I'm not even sure that it would be worth it to take a QB at #2. At that point, I'd hope somebody fell in love with Fields and we could get a haul from them for trading out of the spot, similar to what Washington paid to move up to 2 to draft RGIII some years back. If we end up at #2, I think you look to the market and bring in a veteran QB to compete with Darnold (he doesn't get to go into 2021 as the unquestioned starter) and then use all of the draft capital to load up everywhere else.
If we lose out and get Lawrence, you and the other Mods here will be working OT to expand server abilities and gigabytes to handle the load from folks who flock here the next 10 years. Game threads will be 240 pages.
He's not gonna demand a trade, except maybe from Jax since he isn't sure they might not be in London in 5 years. I'm worried about Jerry Jones tampering and telling the kid to Just Say No to the Jets/Jax and he'll make him a fortune on his rookie contract with under-the-table benefits.
