Yes. Becton absolutely dominated and manhandled his opponent in Frank Clark who's still only 27 years of age and a 2019 Pro Bowler of a pass rusher; and our kid rookie absolutely manhandled him. I wanted a WR in Jeudy/Lamb heading into the draft but I'm so thankful we landed Becton because when I think Trevor Lawrence? I know that he'll now have a Franchise LT in Becton protecting his blindside for many of years to come. And because of Becton? I seriously want us to draft Trevor Lawrence RB Najee Harris out of Alabama with the 1st pick of the 2nd round because Najee Harris is an absolute dog of an animal @ RB and reminds me of a clone of another former Bama back in DERRICK HENRY and I couldn't imagine both of a freak in Najee Harris rushing the rock behind an animal in Becton while both are running downhill; that's just a scary thought of mine. This kid is light years ahead of Brick Ferguson as a rookie who started from day one as a rookie of 2006 and imo had a Hall of Fame career; Becton is downright special within the form of an A+ and blue chip prospect and already Franchise LT. He's truly a freakishly freakish monster out there.
Najee going to be a star in this league. I’m not sure about the Henry comparison he’s more like Zeke with his explosiveness.
If you did not already notice, Becton is going to be a bad ass in this league for a LONG time. What a fuckin stud
I a lot of mocks have him falling to our laps with the Seahawks pick but I would probably burn a fourth rounder to move up for him if he drops into the twenties.
If we can walk away with Lawrence and Harris in the first round. We are in good shape for a long time
Both great comparisons but na, his physical style of rushing attack reminds me so much of Derrick Henry coming out of college! Watch both videos back to back and you'll notice Najee Harris is an absolute clone to Derrick Henry in terms of style of play. His story is amazing too. Was once HOMELESS and now he's destroying the SEC and he plays with the type of pure heart and anger that I haven't seen from an RB since Adrian Peterson. Like Lawrence of his respected recruiting class? Najee Harris was the #1 HS recruit within the entire Country coming out of HS ranked #1 (class of 2017) as well and if we're able to pair both of Lawrence/Najee behind Becton @ LT? Omg our offense will finally become dare I say it, fun to watch! When you grow up playing football in California on the west coast and become recruited by a southern program in ALABAMA?!?!? You're the real deal. Travis is breaking all the ACC records right now and he's an awesome talent too but I just believe Harris will become the much better NFL RB.
I want to see Becton carry the ball one time this season. I don't care if it's for a first down or a goal line situation. It might even be a way to force the defense to use a timeout if he comes out of the huddle and stays in the backfield while the backup takes his spot on the line. We need a little humor. Where's that genius play caller when you need him?
This kid can be as good as the great Jet tackles, Winston Hill, Marvin Powell, Chris Ward, Sherman Plunkett, Ferguson, Jason Fabini
If they do end up with 1st pick, I believe Jets will come out with Lawrence an olineman and either a WR or RB with their first three picks through the second round. Complementing Becton on the oline should be a priority for Douglas.
I get the Henry comparison, liking the physical package & the productivity. While i think he’ll be a decent player in the NFL, does he really make enough plays on his own to justify being a 1st round RB? I dont see that just yet. Looks like more of a back w good vision who takes advantage of the masssive holes his OL creates & runs wide open in passing game. Granted still a physical speciman w a high floor but not franchise altering or a 1st round pick. Entienne & Gainwell make more plays on their own.In Entienne’s standing out more amongst a dominant surrounding cast
Myers, the Ohio State C, is someone I'd seriously consider with the Seahawks pick. The last Ohio State C we had turned out to be pretty damn good.
I don't really see the comparison to Henry at all. He's big and tall, yes. But he's a lot more shifty and runs with better pad level. Not to mention he can run routes. Henry catches balls but they're straight line sprints on throwback screens. Harris reminds me more of Dalvin Cook. A little bigger and a little slower but versatile and physical. It's a shame because I do think he's worth a first round pick. But the receiver position and interior OL is so bad that it's tough to take what might be considered a luxury at 30-32 in a runningback.
Shouldve put a disclaimer that i UNDERSTAND the Henry comp but dont really agree w it.He’s a big RB playing at Bama. The similararities end there. Not sure i agree w the Cook comp but to be fair i saw Cook play live against BC his final colllege yr & focused entirely on him. Hes listed at 5’10 but might be more like 5”9.Beyond his speed his biggest strength is his lateral quickness. He could quickly shuffle side to side waiting for day light & then slash w the best of them. Harris loses his footing alittle bit moving laterally on the 1st level but gets away w it at the college level. He does have some wiggle however. Harris reminds me of faster more versatile version of another former Nole Greg Jones
Thank God we got Becton. Early mocks had the Giants taking him at #4. Looks like he might be the best of the 4 (5?) tackles (OL) taken in the 1st round.
Nice little piece of our Mt. Becton. https://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-...-becton-pancakes-rag-dolls-and-elite-fan-club Now just get a couple of more linemen with similar skillset, so we can see much improved offense in the future.
