I think a lot of the problem is less in the talent and more in the blocking schemes in Gase's plays, which seem to have been written up without any football knowledge or experience whatsoever. It's not just guys getting beat, it's rushers going completely unblocked for no apparent purpose.
The throw to Berrios early was over 15 and the last one to Perriman was but yeah, when the bills aren’t leaving so many one on ones, take a shot. We have Mims now too just for that. It’s criminal.
This is the thing. If Mims was getting double and triple teamed in the second half, that means somebody was open somewhere else.
I doubt it; Gase seems to have the same MO with QBs as Rex and Bowles: Even when they're getting the shit kicked out of them and the QB has lost all his confidence, they never, EVER play the backup. If asked why, they give the canned answer: "We felt he gave us the best chance to win" which is supposed to mean "None of your motherfucking business, dickhead!" but actually means, "Because I'm a fucking dumbass."
Yeah that's one positive! Hopefully he's a superstar but at least he looks like he belongs out there. Something we haven't seen from a high drafted receiver in a while
I agree, but if Sam keeps getting sacked like that he’s going to get hurt. Then we’ll have Flacco, who’ll look like shit and they won’t have a choice.
I like Sam (still) but it feels like he is a dead man walking at this point this entire team (especially the coaching) is just next level bad - I honestly dont see them ever turning it around - given every team looks to improve every year how on earth do you catch up with maybe 2 decent players on the entire roster
We’ve ruined him beyond help. It’s a shame because he’s obviously a very talented quarterback but he needed coaching coming out of college and everyone knew that. We decided to give him the head coach that nearly ruined a current MVP candidate instead.
Yeah, he’s gone after this season. May he find success somewhere else. The whole team isn’t bad. Our interior oline seems to be a big problem, we need a young explosive RB, maybe another receiver. If we could actually score we’d be looking at the games differently.
If you watch games from around the league, and ask yourself ... why is it that every other offense looks so different than ours? ... Other than a few exceptions, the first thing that jumps out at you isn’t the play of the QB.
Bingo. It’s very rare that nationally, people agree that the Jets QB is not the problem with the Jets.
you really think the whole team isn't bad? when I look down our roster I usually think - who on our roster would start on a playoff calibre team and I can't think of anyone really
I really think this decision is going to be up to the next coach. Does he want to work with darnold and perhaps trade down our very high pick for more picjs or does he want trevor if we are number 1
Per PFF, Sam was 7/18 for 59 yards and 2 INT when faced with a clean pocket. The lowest clean pocket grade in the NFL this year. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2020-week-7-pff-refocused-buffalo-bills-18-new-york-jets-10
