If we traded Mosley to the Cowboys, we would incur a $20 million dead money charge on the cap, and would have ($12.5 million) cap savings, so I doubt we'll be trading Mosley anywhere in 2021.
Their offense is stacked at almost all positions, Ball security huge issue, way to pass happy, (Probly cause they are always down) offense only shows up when there 20 points down and the opposing defense is playing soft. They had so many chances to pull ahead yesterday but couldn't when it mattered. And yeah their defense putrid partly because of injuries but They really should be 0-4. The falcons gift wrapped them that game. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
I'm not buying their offensive statistical rankings. I haven't watched any of their games yet but I scoreboard watch. They've been down big in most of their games this year and for long stretches of course their defense sucks but it also says something about how ineffective their offense has been early in games. So what's happening in the later part of their games that's allowing them to make these furious comebacks? Are opponents switching to prevent style Ds when they get up big against Dallas? From what I'm reading/hearing it seems Dallas has drastically changed their style of play. That o-line & Zeke grounding out the yards, ball control plus defense with Prescott managing the game is the formula Garret used. Now Zeke is a afterthought? Only 70 carries through four games. With all the money they're paying Prescott & Cooper they're trying to justify the expense? It's not working early in games but when the other team goes into prevent mode Prescott feasts? Just a theory. 'Cause I ain't buying that Prescott is all of a sudden prime Brady/Manning rolled into one or he's better than Mahomes. PUHLEEZE!!!!!
Clearly the Cowboys need to keep McCarthy for at least three seasons because continuity, and nobody will ever coach them again if they fire him sooner. Am I doing this right?
I'll admit it. I wanted McCarthy over Gase because I felt he just needed a change after all those years in Green Bay like Reid did after 14 seasons in Philly. But knowing what I know now, I'm glad the Jets didn't hire him.
Jerry Jones can let him go at anytime and eat the $$$. The Cowboys make over $900 MM which is about 50% more than the #2 team (Patriots). Paying off $8 MM a year for 3 more years or whatever is a rounding error to Jones.
Comparing anyone to Gase isn't fair.. That said, I never wanted either of them. But McCarthy is, was, and will never be anyone's answer ...
PFT wonders if he could be one & done in Dallas after Dallas was taken off SNF. They're calling it the decline of America's team. They're also saying the 2020 Dallas defense could be one of the worst in franchise history if not the worst and one of the worst in NFL history. I remember McCarthy's Packers teams being responsible for some horrid defensive performances in the playoffs the Kaepernick game and the Cardinals game when they gave up over 500 yards of offense.
Firing him because they were taken off SNF is just stupid. On the other hand, the only argument I can see to keeping him is that this year doesn't count, because of all of the COVID strangeness and Dak's injury. Certainly no one thinks that he's done anything to distinguish himself in any positive way? Having said that, Jerry Jones has done nothing in decades to suggest that he's a good GM. This season will make it 25 years since they last won the Super Bowl, and over that time they are barely above .500, and made the playoffs 10 times, going 3-10 in those playoff games. Until he lets someone else run the team there's no reason to think anything is going to fundamentally change.
I hope that Jones signs McCarthy to a lifetime contract!!!!! In that way, I know the Cowboys will never be relevant again!!! I hate them more than any other team.
