    Great point.

I think if we are still winless into the bye week and we trade another key vet or two--0-16 becomes a very real possibility.

Right now its basically 50-50 shot, if we don't win one into the bye week, I think that becomes closer to 65% and is a likely scenario.

I don't want to be 0-16. No one ever does. That's why the Bengals geared up everyone in the building last year down to the janitors to make sure they beat us.

Lots of 1-15 teams out there will never be remembered. 0-16 is immortalized. Only five teams in history have went ofer. Two 0-16 squads.

We really need these 1 win teams to get their 2nd wins ASAP. Then the Jets could go balls to wall to avoid 0-16.

I can understand your sentiment--but at the same time I think our ownership needs to realize how off the mark they have been running this franchise. The choice to hire Gase set this team back for at least 2-3 years--if an 0-16 season forces them to think longer and harder about who runs this team next it's worth it.

Secondly, there will be many 1 and 2 win teams this year, a lot of bad teams out there. We lose tie breaker with nearly all of them. Getting to draft Lawrence is too precious of an opportunity, I'm willing to endure 1 year of embarrassing history for the chance of many years of good play.

Third, if we draft Lawrence, we can get another premium pick for Sam perhaps, giving us an abundance of picks and money to surround Lawrence with weapons. All on rookie deals! So we can address other holes in FA.

I will be on record hoping we lose every game, securing that first pick, getting a legit head coach and turning this around.

The Jets have been tanking for 40 years, why is this year any different simply because of a qb. just a coincidence.

I've watched a lot of football this year.

I have doubts about Jacksonville, Washington and Giants getting anymore wins....those 3 are pretty brutal. I think we win against Washington or Giants if we played them.

    agree 100%

this season was over by week 2...every game is over by halftime

it’s crazy how bad we’ve been

that being said, there are like 10 teams with only one win...and I agree...we’d lose that stupid SoS tiebreaker to every one

So yeah, we’re gonna have to EARN that #1 pick the hard way...we can’t afford a win.

at least we avoided the worst case ever....going 0-16 and losing a tiebreaker to another 0-16 team...I know it’s never happened, but you know....Jets

The ONLY hope Sam has at a fat 2nd contract is to win 1 or 2 games and knock Trevor out of our plans. Just sayin....

The Giants and Washington play each other once more. So at least one is likely guaranteed another win. The division is so bad that both of those teams can get a game vs. the Eagles and the Dalton-led Cowboys. Washington already grabbed one.

And they both play the Bengals.

This is the only explanation for not firing Gase. If they weren't tanking Gase would have been gone after the Broncos game.

Sorry. But 1 or 2 wins on a 1-15 or 2-14 team doesn't get you a phat contact. It gets you released or traded.

No, he is that bad that the Jets realise their best chance of landing with #1 overall is keeping Gase as head coach/play caller.

Well the Giant and Skins need to play each other again in a few weeks so someone’s getting a W or a tie will still help us.
Jags only chance may be against the Vikings.

It might, but not by Trevor Lawrence.

Our next opponent has looked pretty bad their last 2 games (both losses). Josh Allen has crashed back to earth. After lobbing 350 yrds per game the first 4, he barely broke 100 his last 2.

They'll try to beat us, but if they lose, they'll say "at least we won't have to face Trevor Lawrence 2 times a year, hahahahaha"

It's looking like the Jets 'should' wind up with worst record in the league.,,but is Jets so they could also screw up the thank. They need to lose 2 of the following 3 (Chargers, Miami, Clev), I don't really see any other games they could win.

    AFC -

Jax lost a 3pt game to Tenn. They have a chance to beat Chargers, Texans, Browns and Minn. They will pick up another win somewhere.

Chargers have 3 pt losses to KC and NO so they likely will pick up a few more wins (hopefully one is against the Jets).

Texans should pick up another win against one of Jax, Clev or Cinn.

Cinn already has a win and a tie so with 1 more win they should steer clear of the top pick. They still have to play 3 NFC east teams and Clev so they should pick up another win somewhere.

    NFC -

Minn D isn't very good but they score points. With 2 games against Det, and games against Dal, Car and Jax they should get another win.

Atl could win its next 3 games...Det, Car, Den and they better win one of those because the rest of their schedule is brutal.

Wash has 3 more NFC east games and games against Det, Cinn and Car so they should find at least 1 more win there.

Giants have 4 games against the NFC East and games with Cinn and Clev so they should get at least 1 more win.

Dal has 5 games against the NFC East and games with Minn and Cinn. They should get at least 1 more win.

They had some starters as healthy scratches last game to send a message. They will take it out on the Jets...

If JD was worth his salt, he'd trade or release any player blocking a young guy from playing. McClendon was a start but Gore needs to go, as does Chris Hogan and any other defensive shlub.

We shouldn't even give Gase the option of playing average to below average vets. (cause he undoubtedly will)
