Personally I think this is a huge advantage for the Jets. Seeing that Houston is out with injuries and Barlow is taking his place...remember the NE game where the field was soaked, he ran all over the defense, he plays well in the rain. Also, Marty Booker wont be playing and he is their best WR. With Harrington playing (way overachieving this year) in the rain, i dont see him staying poised, i feel like it will get to him way too much. Pennington is very smart and relies on short patters, which are much easier in the rain then the plays the phins run...

I have to agree...weather plays to the Jets favor...especially considering Miami's game is more speed...even on the defensive side of the ball...and have to agree with Champ a bit too...I'd love to have a guy like Welker on the Jets! He's kinda their version of Chrebet in his prime...

    Peace!

Having lived in Florida for 9 years the translation for isolated T/showers means it can rain on one side of the stadium & not on the other or simplier it could be raining in D/town Miami & not raining where the stadium is which is in farthest North Miami

Pound the ball all day in proper football weather, and mix in some trickery.
My biggest concern is how Brick is going to stop Taylor. The last time we played Brick did a good job , but after watching Schobel take away Brick more so on the inside will give other DEs insight on how to beat him. Th wet weather could tip the balance in Bricks favour though.

I can't rate Booker their best WR with Chambers there. And don't count Houston out. He practiced with the first team yesterday.

Booker has been Harrington's go to guy, when they are in tough situations he is his first read, Chambers is way too inconsistant and i dont visualize him as a threat. I love Houston, and im not a big fan of Barlow but seeing what he did against NE i think he is the best back for this game.

No Idea. Whichever is closest to the field. I know some folks like to be a little higher to see thw whole field , but I like to be able to smell the turf.

I like your analysis--let's hope it is not a repeat of the 1982 AFC title game there in the rain/mud.

I have a friend in Key West and we sit on her back porch and watch it rain on the house across the street every other night at about 5 o'clock. The other days? That's when they are out on their porch watching it rain on us. :)

Yeah, isolated showers can be very isolated in SoFla.

Huge difference in the make-up of the teams since 82. The Jets were a cat-quickness team that made their living out-reacting the other guys. The Dolphins were a north-south power team that basically ran Andra Franklin straight at you behind Bob Kuechenberg, Ed Newman and Dwight Stephenson and dared you to stop them.

The thing I remember most about that game are the Jet's sack exchange being largely neutralized by the field and the Dolphin's game plan and Freeman McNeil flailing around trying to make space for himself on the edges and failing. Bruce Harper didn't even suit up for the game due to minor injuries that would have made him ineffective on the slippery surface.

This BTW was the worst loss in Jet's history as it completely infuriated and disoriented Walt Michaels and he was relieved of his duties in the offseason. Michaels is still one of the top 5 coaches in Jet's history, taking a team of sad sack losers in 1977 and getting them to the AFC championship game by 1982, in an era where parity was definitely not the rule of the day. Spanky Walton (definitely not in the top 5 despite the record) played Herm Edwards to Michael's Bill Parcells and achieved the same results, never surpassing the guy who set him up.

Sit as close to the 50 yard line as possible. There are only 2 tiers of seating and there really isn't a bad seat in the stadium as long as you sit near mid-field.
