I understand both sides of it. I personally wouldn't have passed up Jerry Jeudy for Becton. The only tackle I would've passed up Jeudy for is Thomas. And I would've had a discussion about Becton vs. Lamb. Joe probably watched the film of Darnold and said he will raise the play of receivers if he has time and it's the absolute priority.
I think playing behind Jamal has put him in the shadows, not to mention he came out quite old as a rookie, believe he's 27 now? Together, some pundits have said they were the best safety duo in the league so that has to account for how good he has been as well. I think now he will be unleashed as a guy who can play Jamal's role somewhat. He's not as explosive but I feel he can definitely play all over the field.
I really have to commend this guy for staying fresh for so long. He finds new ways to troll every few months and it works out for him.
I've seen some great plays in my time, but after seeing that catch by Lamb, I no longer have to watch sports ever again. Is that for real? That catch is the absolute pinnacle of human accomplishment. Even if we cure cancer on the surface of Mars, it won't touch the greatness of "THE CATCH." That's right, move over Dwight Clark and OBJ. "THE CATCH" belongs to CeeDee now. WOW.
I want Becton protecting Sam for the rest of his career, but I am a huge fan of Lamb. I was even cool with trading Adams to the Cowboys for Lamb straight up after they got him #17 overall. Douglas clearly got much more from Seattle in the end, so hopefully they can get Sam a #1 WR in 2021.
