It's tough. Guess we will have to get used to it. Baseball has felt odd and a little eerie and ominous watching with the empty stadiums. WWE feels really weird without the fans. I don't think people realized how important fans actually are to the atmosphere of these sporting events. We are more than just money for them.

However, if the option is no fans or no games, I think we all would choose no fans.

    Fans are their lifeblood.

No different than patrons to a restaurant.

You can't do it for baseball either. There's not enough time for a bad call strike 3 to gather all of that information and click the 'boo,' button.

Much different than restaurants. The NFL will be fine without fans in the seats. They'll lose money but they still have the mega advertising deals and TV contracts.

Your WWE examples are so dumb lol.

I don't know if it's meant for pitch by pitch reactions. Either way it's a cool concept that should add something to the broadcast.

WWE has felt weird without fans (please let Drew hold the title til there's full arenas again) but even that little bit has made it better. We're gonna get that "little bit" from the broadcast which is why I don't think putting people in the stands is necessary. Moreso because like I said, what a can of worms that is... who do you test, who gets to come in, where do they sit etc.

They play in 80,000 plus seats stadiums.

Why wouldn't they be able to use the subs and benchwarmers as the crowd while at the same time be socially distant?

I think they have to do something like that. Mass test people do whatever they have to do.

There's a reason why Vince McMahon does what he does.

Wouldn't it be the Jets thing to do to go undefeated at home and there's no real fans there to see it?

So you're suggesting that people who may need to play in the actual game be placed in the stands during the game? Well that's airtight logic.

It actually makes more sense now that I think of it some more.

How exactly does the NFL expect for two NFL rosters & coaching staffs, doctors and team employees, cameramen etc. to socially distance on the sidelines? Ain't happening.

Put some of them in the empty stands. Vince McMahon has shown the way.

What's the distance from the field and the stands a few hundred feet? These dudes are used to playing on a field 100 yards long. Have ladders there if necessary.

Belichick will have to go into full stealth mode.

It is definitely not necessary and more importantly: not safe. Just saying I don't think people realized the importance of fans at sporting events. I brought up WWE because it is a huge difference. Baseball has felt odd, but the actual game is fine. Just seeing the empty seats feels weird. I am interested to see what NHL games will be like. The NFL will be fine without the fans, and I agree the broadcast will make it even more fine for us at home, but the atmosphere will be really different for the players. Especially players that feed off the crowd like Alexander Ovechkin for the Capitals or Jamal Adams for the TBA's.

I haven't seen any baseball but I've seen a little soccer and it's fascinating to hear the players' non-stop communication. Personally, I can't wait to hear the full spectrum of on-field sounds with no interference from fans. I wouldn't want it forever, but for a change it will be interesting. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm also looking forward to seeing prima donnas forced to acknowledge teammates after TD's instead of basking in personal glory.

CT ad New York are pretty open. So could the rest of the country if they stop playing politics and do what the northeast did to lower the infection rate to under 1%. Your clairvoyant skills didn’t work.
