I don’t have a PhD in punter but his mechanics look compact. Looks like he gets rid of the ball really quick.
Great pick. They also say that he is really good at dropping the ball inside the 20s. Plus he can kick off through the end zone.
Exactly! Back when Bowles was HC and the Jets were seeking to play a field position game, I never understood why they didn't put a much higher priority on drafting a punter with a great and accurate leg. It never made sense to me that they didn't do everything to give their strategy a chance to succeed, by getting that great punter who could be a major help.
It was amazing how well Tupa could play QB, but I could never stand to watch him throw the ball. His throwing motion was like a girl's throwing motion at that time.
Reggie Roby. Any Jets fan who lived through the Dolphins/Jets games back then celebrated when we took our own great punter in this draft. It would be sooo frustrating. We'd force Miami into a 3 and out at their own 5 yrd line then Roby would BLAST a 80 yard punt out of his own endzone putting us back on our own 20. I think his hang time was like 10 minutes! I think he clanked one off the ceiling inside some dome stadium once. But now we have our own Reggie Roby!
Of course him, but no, I was talking about the guy on Miami from last year. I should've been more clear. I can't remember the dude's name, probably because I made a mental note to hate him because of the team he plays for.
So I guess you hate his guts, too. I'm too lazy to look it up, lol. Looking up stuff is kind of against my religion, but why the hell should I waste brain cells, such as they are, on fckn Miami. I refuse! Oh, fine, Matt Haack.
