What that he has been in the bottom half the league in offense his whole career outside 2 seasons? You confirmed nothing. He is supposed to be an offensive guru and he's horrible. You make no sense. He has a losing record and never been able to have a great offense outside of Manning basically coaching for him.
You talked about his scheme and QB play that was quickly debunked. You calling him an offensive guru does nothing for this argument and again plays into the perception fans have. He's got a good system, play calling is suspect during situations. Other coaches have had losing records only to overcome it at some point, so ima go into the year hoping for the best.
Other coaches haven't gone 30-35 in their first four season and HC and retained their jobs. Other coaches haven't had their supposed side of the ball (offense or defense) be ranked dead last and kept their jobs. You debunked nothing. His offense has been outside the top 20 in scoring for 3 years now. His offense is one of the worst in the league. He is predictable and gets shut down as he has been for 3 years now. Fans see that is why he has less than 30% approval rating. You have done nothing.
36–44 record for Belichick and Browns... so I guess you are stuck with Gase this year. Just don't watch this year or hangout in the draft forum.
Oh I knew Gase would be here anyway. If we would have fired him already I would question Douglas. Fact is you give an HC more than one year to turn it around. I have no faith in Gase. But changing Darnolds scheme every year would ruin him. I honestly hope Sam develops better short-intermediate accuracy from this as well as maybe some knowledge. Gase is horrible as a coach but it does have some good that could happen. If Darnold can get his turnover in check that's a bonus. I have no faith in Gase but I have hope for Darnold and Douglas.
Gase has a shot to really make some improvements. I'm willing to see what happens with an improved line.
Gase has had plenty of shots. I'm more worried about seeing improvement from Darnold. I hope our rookies gets needed time as well. I like all the rookies even if I think someone of the picks were bad. I will always root for the team. I just think Gase is a failure and needs replaced. But as I said I also understand he shouldn't be fired after just one season. Every time that is brought up it make me think of Pete Carroll. Huge mistake by our team. But as long as our players show progress I am happy.
Not necessarily. Darnold can cut down on turn overs, get better. So can others. You can have a good team with bad coaching. It actually happens a lot. Gase's job depends on the wins. If we don't get more wins than last year he should be gone. As I have said before I want to consistently be contenders. Gase has never done that and I don't think he will ever. I think Houston has the same problem. They have some great player that improve each year. But the coach keeps them back. Yeah they made the playoffs. Then the coach/gm traded one of they're most important pieces for peanut. O'Brien holds that team back.
Coaches get credit for player development. I guess you'll have to wait and see how he does this year. Too many IFs and I wants for my liking. Houston doesn't have a GM BTW. I'm all in for other teams making bad decisions.
O'Brien is the GM basically. He hold both positions essentially. Coaches get some credit yes. But they also have to win. For instance if you have a player that improves every year such as Jamal Adams has. He continues to get better. I have no clue what his ceiling is. And he keep progressing. And let's say also Darnold progresses, he cuts his ints down has a better "qbr" , etc. But the team doesn't make the playoffs or even break even in wins/losses. Do you keep the coach? I see the first year.... coach needs time for players to buy in and learn. But 2? 3? Eventually you need a new coach.
Gore goes into the RBBC. I wouldn't be that surprised to see the Jets flip Leveon Bell for a 3rd or 4th round pick if they can get it at this point.
Typical Jets move. Waste a roster spot on a young, developing team to sign an aging vet in hopes of an 8-8 season. Go Jets.
Why only aim for 8-8 after 7-9? Why not make moves to get to 10-12 wins compete with Buffalo for the division title now that Brady is no longer in New England? The franchise has no direction.
In all fairness drafting Perine scuppered him really, if they thought anything of him at all on the PS Squad last season they wouldn't have drafted anther RB.
