Yeah, and I didn't say there was anything wrong with that (Gore's) approach - that's what players should want to do. I was just saying that this would be a reason a player would like playing for a particular HC.
So how come it was tied for 2nd highest in his career? So now the excuse was the QB system was friendly and he was completing passes? I think your problem in this argument is more-so Cutler and not Gase in this scenario. I wanna lead the league in wins not offensive category, if that means run the ball more and be more ball controllled then so be it.
But it doesn't translate. He's not winning. Mahomes and Reid taking chances is winning. Offensively they weren't top 10. It takes the whole team. To win you need a good offense putting point up, a defense stopping the other team, and ST putting you in good position. Gase's offenses don't put points up... that's the most important part. You can complete 2-5 yard passes all day but if you don't score it means nothing.
Yeah seems you have a problem with Cutler here dude. At this stage it's all wait and see with Darnold. Mahomes and Reid, they established that level of trust. It took 2 years to get there. Gase played to Cutlers strengths but also tried to avoid a turnover prone QB from turning the ball over. That means getting the ball out of his hands and taking the needed shots down the field which they did as evident by that YPA metric.
Man, I hate that. He never got a chance to show the Jets what he could do. That said, Mac signed him, so Douglas didn't have any investment in Moore.
I'm not talking just Cutler here. No it's not a problem with Cutler. GASE has not won period. GASE hasn't had a top 10 offense. GASE has a losing record. GASE has only had 2 top 20 offense. GASE if a failure at this point in his career. GASE'S offenses can't score points. It doesn't matter who the qb is. To this point in his career GASE has no reason to be coaching. Quit trying to derail it and prove me wrong cause so far you just show you know nothing
Yeah. I thought he could be something. but I can see what JD cut him. Hopefully Perinne turns into a real weapon. Gore and Bell will hopefully help him develop.
Pretty sure he has a ring, and pretty sure he made the playoffs with Tannehill, but hey top 10 offense lol. All Gase does is make QBs throw short yet Cutler had a strong YPA, Tannehill not too shabby either and has thrived on an offense based on YAC. Top 10 offense tho.
He has a ring because Manning ran that offense for him. He won with Tannehill because he inherited and playoff caliber team. Tannehill broke 4000 yards 2 times before Gase and never with Gase. His record as HC 30-35. Not a winning record. His offenses do not win. He is predictable. Teams have figured out his schemes and he doesn't change them.
Oh really? How many times did Tannehill make the playoffs with the Dolphins during those 4000 yard seasons? When Tannehill made the playoffs with the Dolphins who was the head coach?
Again that team was built before Gase got there. He just just capitalized on it. Just like Gruden in Tampa. Only Gruden built the Oakland team. Gase hasn't built anything. His record shows what he is. Not a winner. 30-35. Not a top 10 offense. Not even a top 20 all but one as an HC. His offense hasn't been top 20 since the one he inherited and then broke down.
So the coach that built the team did absolutely nothing with the team record wise, Gase comes in pretty much same roster, they had more success but just he capitalized on it? Lmao OK I bet Tampa Bay fans are complaining about that SB win.
They were a middle of the pack team getting better. They had an Oline and built on that during the offseason, they had Tannehill playing well. They had Cam wake and a decent defense. They picked up a few missing piece and went to a playoff game and lost that game. Then fell apart. Gase's offense was predictable as said earlier. It still is. And when we lose this season he should be fired. But I'm sure people like you will be calling for him to stay and making excuses.
I want to be a contender and be in the playoffs every year. I want to compete for a title. Passing yards don't matter if you are winning. But Gase doesn't win. He's 30-35 as a coach. Not in the playoffs every year. Not winning. Again if we lose this year he should be gone. Period. Because he doesn't bring a winning culture. It's been proven for 4 years. It will be 5 soon.
Yeah this year hasn't started yet so I guess we'll have to wait and see, end of the day the perception fans have about Gase are completely off. I think this thread confirms that in full. That was my objective.
