Absolutely like what JD is doing. He is nailing it with Players with high upside, high intensity, crush the opposition type of mentality.
We desperately need to develop a Homegrown back up QB/ potential starter. I can’t help but laugh when some people think investing a fourth to develop a guy that can eventually grow into a solid back up for the top position in football is too high, especially after the shit show last year when Sam got sick. Great teams invest a pick for a QB almost every year.
Yet on another thread someone here was pointing out how great teams like GB had a superior draft going offense with a QB on the first. I thought their draft was a bit of a joke, investing shit nothing once again on a top WR for Aaron on a team where the pass is king. He is so pissed he can’t stand it.

Fromm would have been an awful pick. He has a noodle arm and would never be able to play well in Novemeber, December and January for the Jets.

Saw a tweet that there's belief Douglas took Morgan strictly to block Belicheat? Wonder if there is any truth to that.

He wouldn't have traded previously with him if that was the case surely?

Funny if true though, you can only imagine the steam coming out of the cheaters ears lol

You gotta love that BB traded up for a TE, giving us the pick that we used to take the QB he liked and wanted!!! LOL

Noodle arms have a better track record than guys who can't hit the broad side of a barn. Morgan is what would happen to Josh Allen if you made him stay in the pocket all game.

Morgan completed over 65% of his passes in 2018. His completion percentage fell this past season due to playing through injuries.

sometimes I think people talk without thinking or having valid reason to back up that thought. This was one of them. He called the guy Josh Allen bc he fought through injuries played still to help his team and comp lower than his previous years. But when did Josh Allen comp 65% ever lmfao wow ppl amuse me

He had one season with a completion percentage of 65.3% in Conference USA. Before that, he played two and a half seasons with a completion percentage barely over 50% on average. And then last year with the injuries he was at 58.0%. Even scouts who don't look at statistics say he isn't accurate, excuses are only worth so much.

    Overview
It's easy to tell that the Green Bay native favors quarterbacks like Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers when you watch his tape. Unfortunately, while he has similar zip to the Packer legends, he's nowhere near as accurate and lacks any semblance of touch. Morgan is very capable of making impressive throws to all areas of the field, but his violent release and inconsistent footwork hinder functional ball placement and accuracy. His lack of pocket mobility and instincts make him too easy for defensive coordinators to assault with a variety of blitz packages. However, some teams view Morgan as the only true developmental quarterback talent in this draft, and that could make him a middle-round pick.
    Strengths
    • Very tough player
    • Gutted out knee injury that slowed him for almost the entire year
    • Willing to sit down and eat punishment to release the throw
    • Impressively low sack total, doing what he can to get the ball out
    • Completion total ravaged by excessive drops in 2019
    • Above-average hand size
    • Can spin the ball with just a flick of the wrist
    • Few windows are too tight for his velocity
    • Can fling strikes into the teeth of the defense
    • Shows ability to expedite his delivery when needed
    • Flashes major league arm talent
    Weaknesses
    • Style makes it hard to find a consistent rhythm
    • Rarely gets through a slate of progressions
    • Fastball pitcher lacking accuracy in the strike zone
    • Hips fly wide open in his delivery too often
    • Throws short passes as hard as any quarterback ever
    • Throws into contested spots rather than throwing receivers open
    • Lacks necessary pocket mobility to find clean launch points
    • Turns into a pass-rush punching bag unnecessarily
    • Deep safeties read his eyes and shade his throws
    • Carries football low, creating pocket fumbles

Thanks for this. As I said, I didn't know anything about this kid prior to the draft, only what I've read since. Hopefully, the Jets can get him straightened out technique-wise. I would have preferred Anthony Gordon, but will root for Morgan.

initially i felt like this (as i really liked Fromm from watching the QB1 tv show) but the fact he lasted until the 5th shows that teams just feel like there is no upside potential there - so if its a back-up you might as well go with the guy with a lower floor and higher ceiling than the high floor and low ceiling

have the jets ever straightened out or improved a QB prospect?

or, indeed, any player come to think of it.
