didn't expect this + he's versatile; tels Adams "let's be real; we can live without you"; shows patience -- not lookingfor a year 1 starter in round 3 but he could be under certain circumstance - i kind of expected more on O -- WR or IOL -- or at Edge or CB before a safter/maybe corner I suspect JD has his reasons. time will tell
Almost just a DB rather than Corner or safety. You can bet Williams was involved in this pick. Hes centerfield insurance for oft injured maye & a heckuva matchup guy & special teamer when Maye plays.Back to offense please.
Good point. Never thought about that. Probably Marcus Maye's replacement who is already 27 years old compared to Adams only 24.
good point. i was so focused on Adams another dumb side effect of Maccs double up on LB or Safety ect
I agree with you. To me this signifies that they are not going to pay Adams. If that's the case, different story.
Great pick: -Hard worker -Super athletic -Super tough -Super flexible -Has returner experience -High IQ -From a legit program
Yeah there were great highlights of the Louisville Slugger as well. Give me a fucking break. How'd that work out?? Obviously you haven't been a Jets fan long enough.
until further notice i still think this is more about adams than Maye adams wants a boat load of money and his stats to some extent are an artifact of the guys in front of him. Better front 7 and his stats decline and he's not asking for QB money love adams but he can't be our highest paid defender and this helps ensure he won't hold us over a barrel
Why can't people see him as just a good football payer. Speculation about future contracts is silly.. In a pass first league you need the back end speed you can get.
Either the Jets no longer have any faith in Marcus Maye staying healthy or they truly believe he can make the conversion to CB. Though I just looked up and saw @nevbeats 's comment about Maye possibly walking so if Maye can't stay healthy, it might be a smart looking forward plan. Trying to be positive about this pick.
Definitely wasn't expecting this and have had a range of reactions to it. Sounds like he's more clearly a FS or maybe even CB. Maye is in the last year of his deal and with the tension with Adams this could make some sense. Also sounds like he brings value to different aspects of special teams. Will be interesting to see where he fits in as there are many possibilities.
but hes a completely different player than Adams. I think its a Maye or Poole replacement. Very versatile, blazing speed and this season Kick returner to start
Don’t over react to 3rd round picks and later ones. They are thinking about depth right now and if they become more it’s a bonus.
Funny how this thread already has more posts and more pages than an awesome Denzel Mims pick. Mims thread should be blowing up from a fan base who've cried over not having WRs. I didn't love this pick. Didn't even like it. But in JD I now trust.
