Why nickel? Poole is top 3 NFL nickel back. I like this pick only because of Jamal Adams. This will allow Maye/Davis as traditional S's while giving Adams even more freedom to become utilized literally everywhere as he roams our entire defense. Other than that? I won't lie, I do not like this pick whatsoever.
My thoughts exactly. Why not draft a traditional coverage outside CB? He's a Safety with both Adams/Maye already here. I don't understand. Do we have Todd Bowled as HC because this is something Bowled would have signed up for. We should have gotten way more value for Leonard Williams, than this...
I like the pick. This kid has world class speed, and in today's NFL, having a safety that can run with, and cover, elite backs and tight ends is invaluable.
Unless they know that Adams isn't coming back this is foolish. We already have two quality safetys and a nickelback. The more I think about this, they are not going to pay JA.
Well for starters we need pure CB help... not Safety help with both Adams/Maye already in place. Would've rather went WR or even OLB.
Poole is only on a 1 yr contract and he’s blazing fast so he will probably be a cb in nickel and dime packages

This guy is a quality kick returner. Even if he is only a special teams hero he could still be a valuable addition. We haven't had a reliable kick returner in ages.
I'm hearing a lot about what it will take to sign Adams long-term, has anyone got an idea of what Maye would want? Maybe the thinking is that it's inevitable we will lose one of them because we won't want two big contracts at the safety position. Maybe this guy has been picked for a year or two down the road? Could be good forward thinking.
