Who to root for next week? NE or JAX (I say NE)

    No, no, no, no...

If Jacksonville beats New England we are waiting for EITHER Jacksonville OR New England to lose week 17. Jacksonville loss would give us a shot at a wildcard and New England loss coupled with a Jet's win would give the Jets the AFC East title and a home game in the first round.

Root for New England, and it's not even a question. A New England victory, coupled with the presupposition that the Bengals fall tomorrow evening, gives the Jets complete control over their own destiny.

Hopes for the division are utterly illogical.

I would root for New England because that gives us the better chance of going to the playoffs. If Jax wins that gives us a worse chance of getting in playoffs.

But what I want is this....

NE to win their division, but have the 4th best record in the East
NYJ win out and get the 5th seed.

Jets@Pats..... thats our best playoff matchup as we have beaten them in Foxboro before and are 5-2 on the road.

    Root for NE..

Sorry but if Jax wins this game and NE needs a win @Tenn week 17 to win the AFCE there is absolutely no way NE will lose that game.

Gotta root for the Pats in this one. I'm rooting for all the teams that have clinched their division. Who cares about them until the Jets make the playoffs.

I'll probably be rooting for the Pats but I won't be upset if this game goes the other way. Just having the chance for the division in Week 17 would be nice.

Yea, it really isn't even close. If Cincy loses tomorrow, and NE wins next week, the Jets are in control of their own destiny. The Bengals and Broncos play next week, meaning that one of them will have 7 loses at the end of the day. Also, Jax would have 7 losses too, meaning the Jets and Cincy/Den winner would have control over their own destiny.

If Cincy wins tomorrow then the best path to the playoffs for the Jets might well be through New England.

Oddly enough, Herm could be very important for the Jets playoff chances this year if JAX does beat New England next week... that would be fitting.

So break out your Peyton jerseys and pray that Colts D practiced run defense for 8 hours a day this week.

I have a good feeling that the Colts will adjust and win against Cincy. The scary part is NE at Jax next week.

And of course those dirty fish....but c'mon they aren't really THAT scary.

I think the Bengals will defeat the Colts 38-27 or so. I don't know how the Colts will stop that offense.

Yeah the Colts defense has been very shaky lately.

I know that Tony Dungy is very worried about his team and their prospects at this point.

I think it is pretty obvious now having read all of these posts that we should root like hell tomorrow for the Colts to beat the Bengals and for the...ack...Patriots to beat the Jaguars.

At this point in the season if we can win two games and be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs...thats all you can ask for...

    Go Colts! Go Pats!

    And obviously Go Jets!

i cheer for the neither. we control our destiny. we win both games we will run the table and get into the playoffs. regardless if we lose to the dolphins we have no business in being in the playoffs.

    New flash...your a Jets FAN...not a Jets PLAYER.

Its ok if you root for other teams to win if it helps the Jets get into the playoffs.

Yep... I'd love to see NE lose out, but it's not often a team as good as the Jets comes around to take #2!

Definitely NE. It is FAR more realistic for the Jets to make wildcard, its pretty much a miracle if we can win the division...
