In 2019, the Jets allowed 52 sacks (29th), averaged 3.3 yards per rush (32nd) and generated six plays of at least 40 yards -- a formula for bad offense. Further Sam Darnold was out with mono for 4 games with no back up QB, and we literally had no kicker in game one or we beat Buffalo. So to forecast Sam's performance in 2020 and his worth to the Jets at this point, without knowing if we will significantly improve the supporting cast first is absolute meaningless crap. If we don't do a much better job in the OL to protect Sam, massively improve the running game and give him some better receivers we might never know. Hell, we might be stupid enough to let him sign with someone else that knows how to put a winning team together to support a FQB. And we will forevermore continue the same BS discussion that the NYJ never have what it takes to win a SB with the ghost of JWN and Champ hiding in the shadows..

I always believed Champ was a real old man posting on the site, but this thread is odd. You don't name it SamDonald then immediately spell Darnold's name correctly in the thread. Suspicious!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

If he looks like he did at the end of year two in year three, he won't be asking for 30/40m as he knows fine well he will not get a team to cough up that amount for what would still be a QB with potential.

Im pretty sure Champ sits in his urine-soaked underwear all day until the visiting nurse comes to change him while screaming and cursing at him

Why are you even thinking about another man being in his underwear? Like, how could that thought possibly come to your mind? That's pretty suspect. "A man, posting about another man being in his underwear" lol holy shit that's a first for me and then the nurse part? But hey, to each our own; whatever floats your boat... Bu you should NOT be thinking about Champ being in underwear...

I've never thought about another man in his underwear. Robby Anderson is a blazing fast WR with great deep ball ability. I like him as a football player; and that's as far as it goes. Don't get mad @ me and accuse me of thinking about men in their underwear damn near naked as you did with Champ. Sorry bro. That's all you. Own it.

So, what kind of underwear do you think Robby Anderson wears? What about Champ?

If he doesn't improve no he will not be worth it and should not get paid by the Jets but likely will because the Jets do dumb things.

If he does make a big leap before then it's a no brainer break the bank for him.

I fear the Jets falling into the same trap other teams have that were forced to pay a B+ QBs megabucks. Take 49ers paying Garoppolo huge money just to land him. Or the Ravens paying Flacco HUGE money after his fluke SB win. Cousins. Others. The guy in Philly and Arizona too.

Teams are often forced into taking a HUGE gamble at the QB position. It's rare a team knows all they need to know after a the first few years of a rookie QB contract.

But keep in mind. The ONLY thing worse than overpaying your QB on his 2nd contract is to sit back and watch him win multiple SB rings with another team.
