I predicted that Marcus Maye would NEVER be able to stay healthy through the course of an NFL season and I was completely wrong. Maye was in fact our healthiest player on the entire team this season playing in nearly 100% of the defensive snaps.

Where were you dead wrong during the 2019 season?

I predicted a double digit sack guy. Jenkins finished with 8, granted he missed a couple of games ( everyone but maye did) but I was wrong none the less

Thought the final three weeks of the season would mean something.

That our offense would be nothing more than average. Who knew it would be one of the worst?

I predicted we would win between 0 and 2 wins in our first 8 games. That we would end the season with 5 or 6 wins. That we would be a much better team than last year and I thought our offense would be much improved.

I was pretty much right except that we were a much worse team than in 2018 and I was very wrong about our offense improving. I never thought I would miss Jeremy Bates and Todd Bowels. I also was wrong as I thought the schedule would hold us back. I never dreamed we would play so many bad teams.

I thought that we'd be reasonably healthy. Then came Avery's torn ACL, Mosley's groin Sam's mono, and it kept piling up.

I was wrong in several areas. First was Sam's progression/development and the stats he'd have. Second, I thought that the OL would be better than in 2018, but it was much worse. I thought Osemele would be great, and he was awful. Third, I was excited to see how well our D would do with Mosley and Williamson side-by-side, and we all know how that turned out. Our D was still very good, even without those two. I also thought that our CB play would be a lot worse than it turned out to be. That was a pleasant surprise. Maulet played much better than I thought, Austin was a total surprise and even Canady played well in spurts. Hairston was a late addition and played well at times, poorly at others. I had hopes that Gase would prove all his doubters wrong and really help the offense, so was wrong there. Finally, I thought when Gase wasn't making adjustments, wasn't getting the team prepared, that the team would collapse down the stretch and stop playing hard. I was totally wrong there, and glad I was. That speaks well for the character of the players we have, and hopefully, also speaks well about Gase. I think Williams was a huge help and had the D playing better than I could have dreamed possible, especially with all the injuries, no elite pass rush, and weak CB corps.

I just remembered one more thing I was wrong about. I thought Leon Williams would finally put up some serious production under Williams, but was wrong about that. I'm so glad we unloaded him on the Giants!

We would've been a playoff contender. If Sam didn't get sick and the team showed up against Miami and Cincinnati then they would've been.

After initially panning the Gase hire, after Macc left, apparently because Gase finally got the Johnsons to understand what a disaster he was, I was hopeful that things were finally going to improve, especially on offense since Gase had the "genius" reputation. Based on that I saw at least 8-8 or 9-7 and i the hunt to the end. Boy was I wrong!

I thought the line was going to be a lot better. I thought Kelechi Osemele was a steal, and I thought Jonathan Harrison played decent enough at the end of last year to build on. Then when we signed Kalil, I was even more encouraged.

What a disaster it was with that unit. I also had much higher hopes for Chris Herndon. His production was sorely missed and really the mis match that a speedy tightend presents could've really helped this offense.

I never thought Gase could keep this team together and end the season respectably....besides that we are what I thought we were.

I was super pessimistic all last offseason--so I wasn't wrong about much. However, I will admit to thinking Ryan Kalil would be an improvement over the other options.

Yes, I was wrong about him too. I thought he'd be better than Harrison at the very worst, but was totally wrong. He was awful.

I thought that Leo Williams would excel in getting more sacks with Q at his side - wow did that go down the tubes....

this seems to be very short sighted. Kearse and Quincy went on record saying how Bates offense really didn’t put the players in position to succeed...in fact fans here loathed Bates as an OC and his lack of imagination. I’d take Gase over Bates all day and it speaks that Bates isn’t even employed right now.

I had this team pegged at 9 wins at best. Jets had some shitty luck, I believe this was a 9 win team despite the issues.
