It’s not a add a fa or a draft pick. They pretty much have to do both. With Robbie a free agent the only reliable wr set to return is crowder. Even vyncent smith is a free agent

I agree this pretty much means we need 2 new starter at wr. Not just one and wing it. The other on the team may step up but you can't count on that.

Sign Smith, and draft a receiver. The stick is just not worth the big money.

Well, unless Cooper is available and signs here (which I doubt would happen), I think I'd either draft 2 WRs or re-sign Thomas and draft a 2 WRs.

AJ Green is 31 or 32 and will want big money. Emmanuel Sanders is 33 and will probably re-sign with the Niners. GB will probably re-sign Geronimo Allison. Agholor's no great shakes. There's not another FA WR I would consider signing other than those 5 except for Anderson and Thomas, and if I could sign Cooper or Grreen for the same thing or close to Anderson, I'd forget Anderson.

If Cooper isn't available or interested in playing for the Jets, which FA WR would you sign?

I don't think the franchise tag or transition tags are viable options considering last year those numbers were 16.7 and 14.7. From the little I have read the last few weeks it seems Robbie will be looking at a 12 plus a year deal. I am assuming that means a 2 year guarantee.

The other option is to let Robbie walk and hope to get a comp pick which might be possible with the number of FAs we might possibly lose.

I really hate seeing Sam lose a weapon. I would love to see Sam at least have Crowder, Herndon, Bell, and Robbie next year.

    In order,
Robbie but I’m not winning a bidding war. Maybe joe d tells him to see him with any offer he gets and the market sets a fair price. Possible not probable
    Green on a short deal
    Allison, I like him as a 2.
    Thomas, But I’d rather not.
Vyncent smith should be brought back regardless of this list. Solid number 4 with upside.
Any of thise guys, Justin Jefferson, crowder,Smith, Bellamy , berrios I could live with. If it’s green or Thomas we may be in the market for a wr next year too though.

yeah i like smith and berrios. should keep both for depth. DT can walk. if we can't keep robby maybe go for green on a short term deal. we need to give weapons to darnold. we can't fuck him over in year 3 with no o-line or WRs

I think it’s the contrary, he’s proven and a team can use their draft picks on other needs.

There's also a lot of chatter about converting Leveon Bell to WR, although I have no idea how realistic that is.

I like Robby... He was a good story.
Undrafted, made the team, and carved a role for himself. He got in trouble and since then kept his nose clean.

I pay him #2 WR money, which is going up to abt $13 Million. But more than anything, I hope JD asks Sam if he wants Robby back. If Sam wants Robby then you keep him. Otherwise you have to get Green or Cooper.

Assuming Robbie walks, I think we should offer AJ Green a short term deal (front loaded with incentives) and see if he'll take it. He is elite when healthy even at 32 next season. I honestly think a change of scenery would breathe new life into him and he could be a top 10 WR again for a few years. His size, skill and speed combo would solve a lot of issues for Sam and this O.

Then pick up another WR in the middle rounds.

You’re probably just reading a convo from week 8 when we realized we have a head coach that has no idea how to use Le’Veon freakin Bell of all players. It was likely “why the fuck isn’t Gase using Bell at WR?”

Oh well. I really loved Robby Anderson as a Jet. This is ownerships fault as he should've been locked up long term before being able to enter free agency and not keep our own explosive talent. Loved Robby Anderson as a Jet I'll miss him when he's gone.

I think that's way too low - there is no way in hell that here will be the best situation, and I don't see them going to $15+ million for him (and in my opinion they shouldn't). I would put it at 90/10.

You guys kill me. "Some desperate team who needs a WR will probably sign him". Ahh, that desperate team is the NY fucking Jets. Hello!

You guys kill me. "Robbie's only worth $11M tops". Ahh, Robbie's worth whatever one of the 32 teams is willing to pay for a top WR. That's how 'worth' works around here.

I told you in another thread you're about to be shocked at what Robbie is 'worth'.

Robbie is the top WR in this year's FA market, and he's the fastest WR anywhere. And he has some of the best hands. His thin 6'3" frame weighing in at a whopping 170 pounds means he'll never be the monster of the midway, but that's why teams get a 240 pound possession WR (think Herndon and Enunwa).

2020 will be fun with Anderson, Enunwa, Herndon, Crowder, Braxton and a 3rd round pick to compete with Enunwa.

Letting home grown talent walk who's earned their 2nd contract is what the 'old' Jets did.

Keeping your talent and surrounding your QB with familiar faces is what our 'new' Jets will do.

I am not a big Robbie fan,,,,,never have been,,,,,,if he can get the money he wants wish him well as IMO the Jets would be smart not to give this guy $11 million or more as again IMO he aint worth it
