OK, so if the Jets had lost Miller, Dyson, Vilma, Ellis, Thomas, Hobson, Ferguson and Cotchery, there would be no excuses? Riiight.
Last year we had excuses when we lost our top 2 QBs and played 5, we lost a HOF RB, we lost our starting TE, we lost our C and LT, we had 1 OL start and end the year at the same position, we lost a PB DE, a PB caliber DT, our best D player from '04, our best Sts player and more. Those were valid injury excuses, you have had guys out and come back. in '04 we lost john Abraham and Chad pennington for stretches and we were ok b/c we got Chad back. You have your best offensive players and if Strahan was a little tougher you'd have him back but he's busy hanging out w/ Jared from Subway arguing over more meat.
Yeah, the Jets had a bigger injury problem last season than the Giants have now. The Jets also finished 4-12. The Giants are 7-6 and competing for a playoff spot. What the Jets did last year has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Giants have had crippling losses this season. Also, I don't get the relevance of bringing up the '04 Jets. They made the playoffs with Abe (Hah, and you say Strahan needs to be tougher) and Pennington missing some time. The Giants would be in a way better position only missing Strahan and Eli for a stretch than they are after losing 5 defensive starters, 2 of their backups, the anchor of the offensive line, and the #2 wideout.
  As bad as Eli is your backup is atrocious. you'd be done w/o Eli. You are 7-6 in the race b/c you play in the weak NFC.
